He signs a one year contract. I think it's pretty clear where this is going: after next year Kooij leaves and they don't need a leadout anymore. Maybe Teunissen didn't want to sign for one year.
The thing is that Teunissen could've been usefull for other things too. But yeah something must've happened related to Kooij the last few weeks/months. He probably isn't completely happy (which is his own fault, could've gone to Red Bull or DSM) and about to leave.

Other possibility is of course that something else happened with the Teunissen deal and Visma had to actually find a lead out last minute but aren't 100% convinced with McLay so they only gave him a 1y.

But why was he specifically welcoming the sausages?
Because who doesn't love dried sausages?
(Okay, I know it's vegans and certain religious groups but you know, everybody makes mistakes)

On another note: Robbe D'hondt signed with DSM and I want to make a PSA:

Robbe is pronounced Robb-euh not Robbiiiieee
Now, I know our man Carlton Kirby won't get it right but for the others, please do make an effort. It's the dudes name ffs.

Someone's been busy.

Extensions:

New signings:

Fun fact: Pelle Køster is the Danish U23 RR Champion, and Daniel Weis is the Danish Elite CX Champion. Of course, there's also Søjberg.
Ag2r was not the team I would have expected to start collecting Danish Champions.

Someone knows if Crass stays at Total?

He is supposed to year, at least that's what I've been told like 2 months ago, but it is somewhat strange that it still hasn't been announced. Also think it's a weird decision. Ok Total would pay him a lot for what he does probably but there is a - maybe small - that Total doesn't get a Tour invite and that would mean no GT for Cras (same counts for riders like Kron who sign for UNO X now tbf).

As mentioned in the junior thread, DSM have signed Matteo Vanhuffel, son of the once universally disliked Wim Van Huffel. After all, it was him who collaborated with Falco Savoldelli, ending our Rujano dreams.

No, that was not a spelling error. Wim is called Van Huffel, Matteo is called Vanhuffel.
Both are called Vanhuffel, when the father first got his pro-racing license it was misspelled and it never changed since.
It's a bit like how in his first pro year everyone thought Pierre Latour was called Pierre-Roger Latour even though Roger is his third/Christian name
