Maybe if we can't go with a budget cap or a salary cap, some kind of cap to the number of UCI points that can be deployed in a single race at the WT level would be beneficial, as it would restrict the top teams from providing a nucleus of support for an elite leader who are all capable of being leaders in their own right, and the sheer cost of deploying a rider like Pogačar against the cap would heavily limit UAE's choice

I'd want VDP and Canyon to Soudal. and the Alpecin-Q36 merger. then also the Lotto-Intermarche merger, Arkea gone. and the 2026 wild cards will suddenly be much easier

Of all teams struggling for sponsors I find the Roodhooft bros situation the most perplexing, sad and the biggest concern.
One part of their structure collapsing potentially impacts on Alpecin Decunick, Fenix Decunik, 777 and Crelan Corenden teams.
They are the only current team that really provides 365 day publicity opportunities.
From Decunicks perspective they can benefit from MVDP and Puck Pietersie racing at the top in four disiplines in one year.

Kopecky joins his brother at Unibet Tietema Rockets. Signs until 2027. Very nice video to announce the transfer and a great signing for the team.

What? Where? I only saw the post that they would make an announcement if they got a certain number of likes.

Also, I'm very confused about what this new rule is.
I thought the "You can only announce transfers after 1/8" rule still applied.

Saw it on X / Twitter early morning.
It seems the rule has been modified. What I read yesterday is you can announce a transfer whenever you want it but there still applies the same window in which you can officially register those transfers.

It's disturbing that Alpecin would be having financial issues, though not surprising. Seems like every team not sponsored by a Petro-state at some point has a crisis. That's just inherent in the business model, frankly.

It wouldn't be terrible if Alpecin and Intermarche merged but you'd just have two shaky sponsors rather than one, no?

IMO Red Bull need make Matthieu an offer he can't refuse, Canyon contract or not.

Wanna post it? Is it as whacky as their usual videos?

I thought the rule was basically opposite...
From what I understood, previously the signings could be made - and registered - throughout the year, but only announced after 1/8. With the new rule changing it so now the signings can only be made and registered after 1/8, and the previous announcement rule (only after 1/8) still applying.
