Covi has left and Ayuso leaves a hole in the budget. They have some room left in the squad.

They also used to have guys like Ulissi and Hirschi in the team before, so I guess they could carry him as well.

I thought he may sign for PostNL though.

For me Kevin Vermaerke is already a update on Covi. Hirschi and Ulissi they covered inhouse with Del Toro, Christen and Morgado

Slightly cheaper version of Wellens I guess

I guess that's the goal

Cosnefroy would need a massive step up in order to do what Wellens does for UAE.
He's likely the worst climber among good punchers you will find in the whole peloton and struggles mightily in GTs.

To me he fits a lot more in the Hirschi / Ulissi / Covi role. Someone who can score and win with the right calendar and doesn't need to ride any GT.
I don't think Christen, Morgado and especially IDT are bound to ride this kind of calendar for long.

He can be very useful in races like MSR and Ardennes IMO. A huge asset for UAE IMO.
UAE don't need climbers when they have 6 riders who can climb (in their day) with world class climbers.

Pogacar
Almeida
Del Toro
Vine
McNulty
Yates

Washed, more washed and who?

If you give the team a Spanish name and send it to the Vuelta people will complain they don't get in the meme breaks enough.
The team literally went in nearly every break in every race they took part in this year.
You must have missed it? Also referring to Kubis as "who" further proves my point.
They were a very exciting team to watch this year, you should tune it to a race they're doing once in a while, you'll enjoy it!

Per Marca, Movistar are all set for 2026 and a 27 man team. Quintana already had a contract for 2026, and Arcas, Torres and Oliveira are all to be renewed.

No space for Gaviria, Guerreiro, Cimolai or Pedrero

I think Movistar still could sign a sprinter if there is one available for cheap.

The alternative of give them the wildcard would be Caja Rura or Burgos

If a sprinter can win against the current competition based on modern parcours he is probably not going to be cheap. Perhaps there are some on the market that can get a couple of placements here and there, such riders should be cheaper.

Groenewegen - Kubis & Poels is an insane roster for a PCT to field for the Tour, even if the Dutch have lost a step.

When I read your first post I was sure you were being sarcastic, but seems not...

This year we had Tudor with Alaphilippe, Hirschi, Storer and Trentin, Uno-X with Abrahamsen, THJ, Cort and Wærenskjold and Lotto with De Lie and Van Eetvelt. In the years before Lotto had De Lie, Van Gils and Campenaerts, Uno-X had Kristoff and the ones already mentioned. Even Israel have had some good rosters around Woods and we dont need to go far back to find Total with washed up Sagan still being a better rider than the three you mention for Tietma Rockets and also Turgis being a quality rider. Or Arkea with Quintana.

Tietma will only have an insane Tour roster if the comparison is with B&B.

Yes, of course you aren't going to sign a sprinter who can win at this point of the year, but maybe someone to farm points.

They're looking for the elusive mystery man who can win Québec so UAE can finally do the Canadian double. Sometimes you need to scout a bit deeper since the merely obvious signings like Adam Yates for winning UAE Tour don't always pan out
