What about Ayuso? That would be yet another slap in the face for Skelmose at Lidl-Trek pretty much.
Have a hard time seeing Lipowitz making the jump however unless RBH are strained to offer him a good deal that is. Even with Hindley, Martinez and Vlasov in the squad, the only real long term challenger to Lipowitz in the team is Remco and it remains to be seen who will actually be stronger of the two long term in GTs.
He's still ahead of Skelmose and at worse co-leader with someone like Lipowitz. Not really as bad as Skelmose who might have thought he was number 1 but now would squarely be 3rd at best. What about Ayuso?
What about Ayuso?
The only reason why he will take it as a slap in the face is that he seemingly still lives in the fantasy world where he's a budding GT GC prodigy. For the things Skjelmose is actually good at, Lipowitz won't get in the way much, at most they will share leadership in one or two shorter stage races which might not be a bad thing anyway. That would be yet another slap in the face for Skelmose at Lidl-Trek pretty much.
Is it really a fantasy? He still finished 5th in the last GT he finished other than crashing out of the Tour last year. Is that all it takes for someone to no longer be relevant? The only reason why he will take it as a slap in the face is that he seemingly still lives in the fantasy world where he's a budding GT GC prodigy.
