Yeah nice recovery al pacino. And i think you´ve got a great chance to survive, the way this boring giro is raced. I don´t see any sign that the top 20/30 get´s a big reshuffle. Computerized cycling in 2012  (powermeters, race radios, time gaps mentioned every minute by DS, etc. leads to cowardly racing). What a mess...

Not after today, you scored 0,5 with Basso. Only 3 others did too.

Not at all... Provisionals will be updated today again!

LOL at us all: After picking JRod 62 times (only Cav was mentioned more), nobody picked him for today.

P.S.: ... @ those who picked him Top-20: How in the hell did you guys know about De Gendt? I had him not on my radar at all!

He should have won the white jersey at the tour yet too inconsistent and proved himself on some of the top mountains.

He also looked good in some of the previous races, he was in fact incredibly strong in PN and would have done a better a job than Westra if not for the split on stage 2, his stage win was total domination.

He also is not doing the tour so he was making this race his primary objective.

That´s the fun part (unless i would be involved ;)).

They should end the giro now. It just looks perfect. 1st in standings and provisionals (in europe division as well overall). It can´t get any better.

No. He wasn't inconsistent. He had a small fracture in his collar bone. And he only really showed himself on the Alpe d'huez stage and in the TT.

He also looked good in some of the previous races, he was in fact incredibly strong in PN and would have done a better a job than Westra if not for the split on stage 2, his stage win was total domination.

He didn't look thát good in the previous races. He did look impressive in that breakaway with Taaramäe, but the peloton didn't really contest him there. He stated many times that his form wasn't very good at the time. And how was he going to beat Westra there? Westra finished 2nd in the GC, only 8 seconds behind Wiggins?? De Gendt finished 29th, over 7 minutes down, with his breakaway neutralizing the time loss of the second stage.

Where on earth do you get your info?

At least Bakelants wasn´t that bad, since i picked him ;) for the 2nd time in two years.... only that he failed in both.

OK, then it´s a mystery again. But what i wonder is that no less than 9 people have him in Top-20. There must be something else.

Dekker, you should start to root for Seeldrayers to move inside Top-20 (currently 29th), and Slagter to move inside Top-30 (now 33rd). That would total you one important point. And having Pozzovivo move to exactly 5th for another point. All seems very possible...

BTW, all of us got disappointed by Rujano. I also was heavy on him.

Not really a mystery Foxxy. :) A top 20 position was his ambition for this Giro.
I also picked him by the way.

Why did I include him?

He showed promise in last year's Tour, both in the long TT at the end of a GT and in a mountain stage (Alpe d'Huez).

Plus he was gearing up toward the Giro all year, which means something with a gifted rider like De Gendt.

The fact that he ensured everyone time and time again that he wasn't at the top of his game yet and that he was going to be ready for the Giro, made me grant him the benefit of the doubt.

That was (for example) Pinotti´s too. Actually he was going for Top-10.

Many geared up for the Giro (Rujano anyone )... But hats up to ya all, great pick to identify the contender from the pretenders. A great pick.

But the best one so far is Jakob747 for being the only one to see Brambilla finishing Top-20....

It seems at least one of my sleepers can play Tiralongo´s last year role: De Greef, currently at 24th.

P.S.: For those who picked Szmyd. It will be a lot of sweating. For now he gives everybody who picked him an important half point. But he is living on the edge, sitting just at 30th now.:D

Brambilla is a very, very good rider. In 2014/15 he should be ready to challenge the best on GC! :)

Anyway I must admit I am starting to get a little nervous about my team. It has been going downhill slowly, but steady for a while now. Would be rather anti-climactic to have to sit out on the Tour! :D

Great excitement though.

as said by boomcie, no guarantees, but it seems very unlikely to lose 4 1/2 points to the other players to miss the cut. I think you are pretty safe.

To miss the cut you need a true mega collapse...

wiggins barely beat westra (who also couldnt match him on the climb) so I assume you mean tdg would have been better then wiggins also.
