The deadline for sending picks will be coming Thursday at 13.10 GMT/UTC (therefore 48 hours before the start of stage 1) ...
I will send a PM tonight, in which format the picks shall be sent.
Hi Foxxy!
Any reason why this early deadline? I was hoping ten create my team on Friday afternoon, as I have a very busy schedule this week. So consider this a friendly request to adjust the deadline from 48 hrs before start to 12 hrs ;)

Hey... the deadline always was 48 hrs before the first stage. I had looked at the official site, where it´s stated that the first team rolls down the ramp at 15.10, a the time I am used to ("German summer time"). Now I converted it to "cycnews time". It shall be correct, even though it´s always confusing & hard to figure out this mishmash of CET, UCT, GMT, plus summer time, and the heck what else.

OK, so no reason for me to overthink anything for this edition :D
Team submitted!

I hope I don't make a blunder like I did in the Vuelta. It was more a calculated risk than a blunder though....

No matter what, you can´t erase memories. It was a blunder since you left out both, Contador and Froome. ;)
OTOH, you are a dangerous opponent since all other T-20s looked good in the past. Guess last time was just a bump in the road...

OK, I got the picks. May the rushed ones work out... :D

Giro approaching really fast. This will definitely be my least thought-through-team so far in this game :p

As usual, a GT is coming out of nowhere like x-mas... And then the time left to buy presents or make picks is too less to be done without stress.

I received already a good amount of picks. So I will close the "Pre-Standings" (link; see front-page) soon, put the picks in there, and re-open it when I have all picks. I think that will be on Friday, for everybody to see who picked whom in the stages and CGs.

Astana, Sky and GAR for example could fill my T-20 alone  But then I could not select guys like Uran, Pozzo, Contador, etc...
I think I have to take some hours off to think deep. It´s too hard to decide...

I just gave in. In the end I decided to go by kg, feeling, if the name sounds good, and other irrelevant things. Might be my worst T-20 ever... or it skyrockets like a dot.com stock in the early 2000s.

Now heading to the stage picks. Hope that they are easier to decide.

Wait until you see my top 20. I think I have it spot on ;)

Sent my team. This was harder than the Tour and Vuelta last year. I had the hardest time with picking stage winners for the hilly stages. My only hope is that some of you here have expressed how hard it's been as well. :p :)

Oh, oh... and I thought the T-20 was hard. But if it´s true what you guys say here and in PMs about picking stage winners, I see another long hard sleepless night in front of me.

Mortand, you was lucky with having considered 40 for the T-20. My first loose list had 69 riders. Then I trimmed it down to a more serious 50. Had a hard time to cut it down to 36. And from that 36 on, I went berserk  ... after cooling down, I am left with a T-20 after cutting the younger guys, and go for more experience like in the Vuelta. All could be wrong though.

Lol wut. I had trouble even finding 20 riders who were really worth it.

Next time contact me for my long list. I would be more than happy to share my headaches. Misery loves company. :D

Edit: And still with that long list of 69, one team "managed" to send such a bad team to the Giro, I couldn´t find a single rider having a outside chance of getting one into the T-20. Not that that WT team has a truly great sprinter at start either.

Interesting,I think its because they are so many so called 'gc riders'.
Just for the record I had 39 riders :D , but stages were another level

"At some point you have to give up and just hope your lucky"

Very true. That is btw what I was forced to do in the end. But since it is hard to accept, I left myself with a last tiny straw: Experience may matter (or not, or whatever ).
