In all fairness... UCI did their best, but Horner out-smarted them, like blaming the anti-doping guys for his hide-and-seek games at this very absurd Vuelta.

I can't find it, but it was in Roubaix, Cancellara catching a guy in a breakaway who tries to hold his wheel. Canc goes through a couple of corners and accelerates away from the guy while sitting in the saddle. The guy sits up and throws his hands up like "wtf am I supposed to do?".

Highly suspicious and absolutely brutal, but that's not an alien jump. Being hyper-strong is not the same as being alien.

But he did an alien jump in that Vuelta at least once (see stage 3).

Hey thanks, neither is the one I was thinking of but I appreciate you digging those up! I think he was in the Maillot Pois when he did it. 2000? I thought it was on the stage to Briançon, but might have been later after he got the MP.

Botero won stage 14 of the TdF to briancon in 2000.
He wasn't in the dots jersey yet at that point.
The vid I found starts when he's already alone with good ol' Baranowski. Not sure how they ended up together at the front, but at the start of the vid you see they seem to have just put a massive gap on the second group (perhaps due to the jump you refer to...)
