THe 8/7 version IS the lance special, says so on the front of the website.

You can watch them next day on the cbs website. They dont appear to be geo restricted http://www.cbs.com/primetime/60_minutes/

Okay but are they also doing Lance stuff during their normal hour. That is mostly what I could not work out. At the end of one of clips to their earlier stories seemed to indicate it was on normal 60 minutes. They wouldn't be doing 2 full hours would they???

Here is the breakdown-"60 Minutes" does three investigative pieces in their usual one hour weekly show. For today, the Armstrong story is taking up two of the three slots.

The third slot is dedicated to the story about the FBI undercover agent and the mob informant known as "The Grim Reaper".

After the hour is over, Scott Pelley will do another investigative piece on Tom Drake, the former NSA senior executive who was indicted for espionage last year. There will two other stories during this special episode, but the Armstrong story will be covered during the 7 p.m. time slot.

Okay, if this is the case then I don't know why they are linking the lance story with the special edition so closely on http://www.cbs.com It clearly mislead me and TSF

Nah, almost certainly one of the legion of lawyers and other helpers involved. Leaks are as common as air
Again, unlikely. Lawyers don't risk indictment and eventual disbarment to reveal Grand Jury proceedings. I don't think you folks realize how seriously the Feds take GJ secrecy and enforce it with indictments of attorneys, even prosecutors, who break silence.

I'm beginning to think George has cut a deal and has told people that it included his telling the truth in front of the GJ. He may have told people the general outline of what he told the feds. Also, if he spoke with the FDA and the source is from the investigation, then that is not the same as GJ testimony. So, it may be George saying I cut a deal to confirm what I told Novitsky to the GJ. That person(s) then tell CBS.

The link will take you right to the "60 Minutes" program site.

I thought maybe you had seen an article that had the full breakdown as you described it with all the various segments etc.

I thought so too. They feature the breakdown of the stories they are doing and what time they will will air. It's easy enough to follow, but it seems as if the CBS site and the "60 Minutes" site have different information about the same program.

that says 7pm, whereas the other part of the website says 8pm. very confusing.

The Scott Pelley team's investigation into Armstrong and the use of banned substances in pro cycling will be broadcast on "60 Minutes" this Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

I thought maybe you had seen an article that had the full breakdown as you described it with all the various segments etc.

This one says it's a double length segment 7:00 Eastern,

CBS) SUNDAY, MAY 22, 2011, 7 and 8 p.m. ET/PT

Lance Armstrong (7 p.m. ET/PT) - A former teammate of perhaps the world's greatest cyclist, Lance Armstrong, says he used banned performance-enhancing substances with Armstrong to cheat in pro races, including the Tour de France, the sport's ultimate event. For the first time, former Armstrong teammate Tyler Hamilton reveals details to Scott Pelley never heard in public before of how and when he and some of the former members of the U.S. Postal Service team led by Armstrong used banned substances, including EPO and testosterone, to gain an advantage in races that Armstrong won. Michael Radutzky and Tanya Simon are the producers. THIS IS A DOUBLE-LENGTH SEGMENT.

The times are getting their revenge on Lance by the looks of it.

David Walsh gets an entire FULL PAGE IN THE MAIN NEWSPAPER TODAY, and a further half page in the sports section. This is a broadsheet on a sunday so a full page in the main newspaper is pretty serious coverage.

Maybe everyone's best bet is to put the TV on CBS at 7 p.m. EST and don't move until at least 9 so you don't miss anything.

Anyone know where we can maybe get a pdf of the articles??

Not at the moment, the text will probably appear somewhere. Cant pdf them as the online version is watermarked with the subscribers registration number. They are also huge as its a broadsheet newspaper.

Interesting note in the article.

They had to pay lance a settlement over doping allegations in 2006.

they refer to the settlement "which will be reviewed by our lawyers once the federal investigation concludes."

I think its fair to say that Murdoch and Walsh have personal vendettas against lance.

I wouldn't say Walsh has a personal vendetta against Armstrong. If he did he'd be using every opportunity to take a pop at him and i dont see that.

As far as Murdoch goes, Armstrong is a small fish in the pond inhabited by Murdoch.

Do you think Lance will write them a letter and school them on their ethics again?

Murdoch wants revenge.

I just checked the TV Guide. Apparently they're showing two, hour long episodes tonight. Tyler is on the early one.

Definately.

I dont think you can underestimate just how big having a full page in the main section is. I can count on my fingers the amount of times a sporting story has had a full broadsheet page in the times. And Murdoch has lawyers and resources that dwarf Lance's.

Are there any live feeds of CBS going anywhere?

If I can see it live I will make sure to wake up for it, otherwise I'll "catch the replay".
