Contador telling fibs

Schleck was away - Contador wasn't attacking but desperately chasing - and looking for Menchov because Alberto is a scared man. He saw Andy's difficulties and showed his nature by taking advantage of it.

I must admit I'm quite dissapointed at the way things turned out today. An unwritten rule was broken: DoNotAttack when the LEADER has a mechanical difficulty. Contador still had a team mate, Il Vino, while Andy was stuck alone in the high mountains, as his team is made up of guys for the classics and flat stages. Thumbs down for Alberto, Samuel, and Menchov. Contador is an stronger ITT rider, and should have been able to get plenty of time on the long ITT ahead. The fact of the matter is that now I'll put an asterisk on the 20G's he will receive each day in yellow until he shows, beyond any reasonable doubt, that he can drop Andy. I shall no longer root for him, and neither will my son Cristian, a kiddo expert in the art of telepathy &telekinetics.PERIOD

This is another example as to why forums ultimately miss the point. When everyone is watching the TDF, some of the "fans" are watching "Twilight Zone" with their family, of course. It seems that some of these anti Contador posts are similar in many ways to the boorish behavior of the French fans at the awards ceremony today. I guess I am wondering how they could have figured everything out so quickly on their own or was it just simply the power of the media driving a wedge between the fans and Contador, on behalf of Mr. Armstrong, to add to what is really a false and ridiculous controversy. The media preys upon the less than average intelligent folk, as well as the kinetic fringe that gets stimulated any time there is this kind of agitation in the Universe, or beyond.

That is not what happened. AC was speeding up to AS. Looked behind him to his right (away from AS) exactly when the chain slipped. AC couldn't of seen or known anything at the moment of his attack. He sped past without looking at AS and was well ahead when first informed something had occurred.

It was Vinokurov you are talking about, not AC who was further back.

I'd say that's a pretty dumb move at that point in the race...

Regardless, put yourself in that position. Would you think "game on" or not if you were AC?

These days Armstrong could not beat a Frenchman in a cheese eating contest, let alone a TdF stage.

that was a joke referring to that lame thread about Lance winning stage 15.

I am actualy super glad Voeckler won this stage...

Why you feel you need to sling mud constantly at AS to make AC look bigger I fail to understand.

Lmao

You forget they are quite if not very friendly. Your reaction to that is not theirs, and never going to be :)

I think you forget that they are men, and even if my friend were the one that attacked...he!!, ESPECIALLY if it were my "friend," I would think the same thing "sucks for you dude" and probably tell him as I went by that he was buying at the end of the ride. :)

The unwritten rule?

What exactly is the "unwritten rule?" What rule was in place during Stage 3 when Frank Schleck's crash split the pelaton, and Cancellara and Andy Schleck took off, rather than wait for GC contenders (including Contador)? In addition, I'm recalling that Contador blew a tire near the finish of Stage 3, which added many seconds to A. Schleck's lead. I realize A. Schleck could not have known about Contador's misfortune, but does Contador not have some (unwritten) rights to take that time back? Serious responses only, please.

In other words....

"I am sorry for making that move, but it feels great to be a 3 time champion. I'll be signing my '3' shirts and hats all week. Thank you."

Contador didnt have the Yellow Jersey on Stage 3. Sylvain Chavanel did so I dont buy that for one second. If anyone should be complaining about Stage 3 it should be Chavanel.

Contador tried to downplay the significance of the time taken, but when we're talking about AS trying to eke out enough margin to hold off Bertie in the ITT every second counts.

The most ironic outcome would be if Menchov takes the MJ.

Buy what? That Andy exploited a race situation to his advantage? Or that Andy exploited a race situation to his advantage?

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I like both riders but IMO, Andy attacked, Bertie followed a few seconds later. As Bertie was getting up to top speed to make the gap, Andy had his problem. Bertie flew past, not sure if he did know exactly with what was going on. Once he found out, he did look like he did not know what to do. I can understand Andy being upset but I also can't blame Bertie either. Shame but thats cycling, draw a line under it and get on with Tour.

You're so wrong.

Samuel Sánchez is from Asturias, also in Spain.
Basque riders are Spanish. If they feel Basque or Spanish or Tibetan is a completely different matter and should be respected.

PD: Please, next time get the facts right before exposing your lack of knowledge publicly. It'll save a lot of embarrasement to everyone here.

I don't by you well he didn't have the jersey then excuse. they know who he is and showed him no respect then. in fact planned on exploiting crashes [which ended up being caused by frank]. Alberto owe's him nothing

AGAIN.

Winning a 3 week race on a single mechanical by your only real legitimate threat is an awful way to win the race. It sullies the efforts of everyone involved in the race, and doesn't show the public who was the strongest competitor.

Regarding Stage 3. Shrek was already doing interviews at the finish when AC had his mechanical. There was actually discussion here that AC should have gotten the same time as his group, not sure how that panned for him.
