If you bother to read the general news thread, on the last page (or the page before), one of the Dutch posters said it was actually a poor translation (ie through google) on cyclingnews' part.

There is too much on here to bother to read every post, especially when ACF is on a posting blitz.
Thought it was more relevant on this thread.
I will remove the post and link, even though you have now used the whole quote.

Probably the 8 riders are shackled at his ranch as we speak..

Lance is a trash talking Michael Spinks to AC's quieter, mature Ali.
(I think you meant Leon Spinks)

Not a very appropriate comparison, imo. More like Michael Spinks with AC in the role of Mike Tyson (back when Tyson was the 2nd coming, pre-buster Douglas and before he got rid of his Cus D'Amato era handlers)

That was the last time I was interested in Boxing. Back then, the fist time Tyson would hit his opponent was so telling. The looks on their faces was priceless. Then of couse Tyson would try and take their head off, which was usually brutal (of course I could not look away).

Back on topic. LA dopes, no doubt.

I do believe coming on the heels of his podium finish at the Tour de Suisse, it is safe to say the Boss is Back! Watch out AC, he's coming for . . . your mussette. :p

EDIT: I found this comment from Demol illuminating. Unless he's limiting his comments to Rast and Murayev, then he's basically admitting that Lance is the sole GC candidate and everyone else is a domestique:

“We chose pure domestiques,” he said, “you have to be realistic. We couldn’t expect Gert to ride completely in service of Armstrong; that would be against his nature. That couldn’t happen, Gert deserves better.”

I know that it's always been the case (1999-2005), but this year, like last, they've taken great lengths to try to suggest that the leadership was open. That they have 3 cards to play, blah, blah, blah. This statement turns those protestations on their head (so to speak).

Love the comments:

"What a beautiful sight to behold! the King of the Mt Lance you rock."

Like no one has every cycled up a mountain before.

Yea, honestly I like to see the video's, i wish more guys would make them. Cycling is a sport thats close to the fans and the interwebs are a decent tool in that respect.

But godtittydamn, those comments are lame :/

I think Lance will win the tour. This is why. A. Schleck I think is injured. AC has had so much good luck and is so talented he is up for a letdown. AC has at least 5 more TdF wins in him. Lance knows this. Lance wants 8 so Contador cannot break Lances' record. AC has a not so good team. AC is screwed by Astana, really. Captain Vinokurov is a loose cannon. Peiero might be able to do something. Cadel being Cadel will make 3rd if lucky. Basso should be hurting by week 3. Shack has the strongest team after Saxo but somehow I do not see Fraank winning the tour either. Plus I see HTC Colombia stage hunting and allying with Shack. Same with Saxo. I think Sky will ally with Shack to improve the chances of Wiggo. Lance and Wiggo, may the best man win.

Contador winning at least 5 more Tours? Okay, I know Armstrong won 7 so people might get the impression everybody worth mentioning can easily collect a few Tours, but it's not that easy.

If this becomes an Armstrong vs Wiggins showdown I think I'll definitely switch over to curling.

Lance looks markedly stronger/leaner in these videos than he did in videos posted the same time last year. The tour's going to be fun to watch!

Uh, not he didn't. I saw him in person last year at exactly this time of year, and he looked very much more fit than he looks in that picture. He was thinner, though I will grant you this, pictures do genuinely add pounds. Regardless, he is certainly no fitter this year than last year at this time.

I agree with the original post, seems to be leaner, less muscular throughout his upper-body. He had no real results last year and hasn't had much this year true, but the last month he seems to be getting stronger. I suppose if you think he was a bit leaner last yr that may have been due to the Giro ride he did.

That is Lance last yr reconning

This is this week: http://www.livestrong.com/teamradioshack/video_scenic-hill-climb/db5e15cb-a078-4d0e-b122-0609550ac98a/

I believe his arms are markedly smaller, can't fill out the sleeves. He looks smaller through the chest and midsection also.

lance is old, he is at the centre of a doping controversy which is sure to explode within the next few days.

he will be lucky to get top 10, which is still pretty good for a man his age.

The selection is made purely to back up Kloden when he gets tire of towing LA's a$$ up in the mountains

Well, for a few short posts it looked like it might turn into something totally crazy - some real fairly objective posts about LA and bike racing without a lot of talk about his financial dealings, or sex life, or personality quirks. I mean Thought For Food posting something like that? What's next, dogs and cats living together?

Thank Dog it's back to the established circle jerk of personal attacks, juicy gossip, and other middle aged women cackling at the beauty parlor type stuff. Much more entertaining. :D
