Ride your (road) bike and train like a road cyclist and it will all come clear to you.
I know nothing of triathalon except none of the tri guys were good cyclists. Read the Greg LeMond road racing book and it will help you to train like a(road) cyclist. First do about 4000 low speed miles this winter...

Wasn't lance a tri guy? Does that mean that he was not a good cyclist?

Just sayin.....

And for what it's worth, me and all my tri buddies kick the crap out of just about every cyclist in the area when it comes to a race against the clock. Take away the draft and a lot of guys are not so strong

Strange. LeMond has always been an advocate of less is more. He doesn't believe in long base mile sessions. Not sure where you get your information from but it’s not correct. Makes you look stupid.
LeMond, like all current pro riders except for Lance, has no idea of how to train properly.

And yes, this will be my final Tour de France. It's been a great ride. Looking forward to 3 great weeks.

I was wondering how I missed that 'tweet'.....

Turns out I have been 'blocked' by LA from following him (on my DrMaserati twitter account)!!!!!

I never ever sent some of the 'tweets' like you did.....

I wonder what the fanboys would say about the fact that Armstrong: 1. Does in 9 days of training what takes everyone else 3 weeks 2. can't suddenly ride away from the best if you were unable to keep up with them a month earlier 3. Always gets better during 3 weeks of a grand tour.... must be all that hard work

My guess is that they will disregard point #2 and focus squarely on points 1 and 3, which should rather quickly become a part of Armstrong's mythology.

I raced with LeMond. Yeah I guess I am stupid! Let me fill you in. Greg came from genetics, his sister was olympic gymnst material until her injury.
Greg had motivation from his anger issues. Same time a super nice guy. About the miles I am old school you got to have the easy rolling big miles to be top tier. Gregs book advocates cross training. That is core strength. That core strength and Lances motivation and intelligence are what has given Lance results in the past. Same as Greg. As for the doping, that is not my issue. People ask me about it and I smile and pleasantly change the subject. Not my business!
I ride with people in my club who are tri guys and girls. Great athletes totally different training. Not cyclists not like roadies or trackies. Different discipline.

And what of Greg's base miles as per previous post? Not forthcoming? I didn’t ask about his sister or cross training. Looking more stupid by naming dropping without responding to the initial question.

It’s ok. I honestly don't mind that you're a liar.

I think its known as "blocking by association", you need to pick your freinds more wisely.

I only saw it because someone RT'd it.

That is fine you are right about me. None of the pros past or present have done LSD ( long slow distance training) Excuse me, especially Eric Zabel or Greg LeMOnd. They just hoped on their bikes and got results.
Just go read Gregs book and you will see how athletes peak for the tour. They have it at the library and Borders.

It is curious to me why Lance ever came our of retirement. I know he wanted 8(the greedy bug ger) but how on earth did someone as intelligent as Lance ever think he would conquer Contador?

Man don't post stuff like that while i'm drinking my tea, you nearly made me choke! I have no problem with you being a Lemond fan but try not to lapse into total fantasy.
