So, that's it then. Once this TdF is over, we'll never see him in a race again? Can we finally retire all the LA threads etc. Purge this site from all that is him? Cleanse it?

It would be awesome to have a fresh start.

I was thinking the same thing. If LA isn't racing, what will become of the LA thread? What will all the LA posters (including me) do without our favorite lightning rod? Talk about racing? Who could possibly take the place of LA as a subject for good juicy gossip and inspiration for foaming flame fests?

I suppose he'll probably stay involved in some sort of capacity or another with Radio Shack, but that just won't be the same. Good for maybe a quarter of the posts per day generated on the OLAT. It will take forever to reach the magical 1000 post landmark if that is what happens.

Yeah right - and for this to work Lance has to be able to keep up with the tempo! Not to mention that Contador, Schleck and a few others don't ride like that. They won't give a rats bottom about tempo they will just fire it up and rip off the front leaving everyone gasping for air and trying to grab wheels.

The best chance the steady eddy types (Evans, Armstrong etc) have is to sit tight and hope the others run out of go go juice. For me Contador's biggest issue is he sometimes goes too early and can't sustain his attack.

2003 - Ullrich
2004 - Kloden - The "cleanest" of the 2nd place finishers... which isn't saying much.
2005 - Basso - Puerto suspension.
