Incredible ride by LA today.

Can't believe he's doing this at 38. 38 is NOT the same as 27. Your body in your thirties does not respond in the way it does in your 20s...

Good ride by the old man. Can't draw too many conclusions from a prologue, but this should put some doubt into LA's competitors who thought he could no longer TT. Today might force AC/Shlecks to push closer to the limit in the mountains. Looking forward to some exciting stages ahead.

It's obviously still way way early to deem LA is still "around". We're all waiting to see him crack (cause that will happen inevitably at some point), but it was nice to see it hasn't happened yet.

Actually, I am now starting to think that the time gained by Armstrong over Contador (given the fact that the former seems to be in top form) on Arenberg stage can be enough for overall win.

Don't know what can be worse.

Much better than expected, indeed. I didn't think he had it in him, especially in a short TT.

That said, prologues aren't very significant. Apart from Andy Schleck, everyone else was more or less were they should be.

I wouldn't start thinking about the mountains yet. They've got to get through the wind (Stage 1), Ardennes classic (stage 2) and cobbles (stage 3). A lot will happen between now and then.

On Versus what was that graphic on versus that kept floating above the overheard view, pointing to Armstrong? Was that used for any other riders?

I did not watch all the coverage. Time trials are usually a bit dull.

It was an icon used to identify him. A little overkill in a TT (he was the only one on the road). I'm sure you'll see it a lot tomorrow and most normal stages.

Err...was talking about future:)

I think AC will inevitably lose at least 2 minutes to Armstrong. Maybe even more.

You have got to be sh!tting me. I will have to put up with that annoying crap on the road stages? I may have to switch to feeds.

I feel sorry for those who are forced to watch this tour on versus. From the music to the uniballgurbling, to the typical american, dumbeddown, rivalry hyve. ugh.

anyway, moving on...

last year 40 seconds.

This year. Who knows. But in order to be able to say something other than "contador will win this lets go home" the media has created this idea that he will be weak on the cobbles and la will take time from him. SO the guy seems to think that time ( if lance does take it) will survive throughout the tdf.

maybe not ;)

Come on, don't stir up the haters. They're already upset that their prediction of thousands of new posters showing up is an epic fail. Along with the LA won't start illusion, they're batting about .02%(the very enlightening(at least for them) WSJ article finally made the scene and was worthy of 999 posts). Fortunately, as always, the antidote is the trusty old Clinic where they can pat each other on the back and knock off some crusty old fromunda artisan yellow to be served with the whine.

Nope. There is a picture box with his image and name, and then a tail that pinpoints to his body. It (the tail) moves as he moves up or down the screen.

Yeah I saw that. It points to Lance (or the little transponder hidden in his bike's frame powered by a dozen AAA batteries).

I think it was a language thing. He basically is predicting that Armstrong will take 2 minutes from AC on Stage 3. It's possible. I'm going to not look any further ahead than tomorrow. Stage 1=echelons.

Respond to what?

Recuperate, recover.

How old are you?

Depending on your age, you may not understand what I mean.

There's a reason only Jens Voigt is older than him on the tour. It's cause every living human being older than LA is no longer capable of being competitive in the TdF.

Bodies break down with age.
