Contador is not that small or light in weight. The only thing that will cause any gaps on Stage 3 will be bad luck not size, not strong enough team, not lack of riding on cobbles. Everyone knows what is coming and every GC guy has their guys to look after them.

Recuperate, recover.

How old are you?

Depending on your age, you may not understand what I mean.

There's a reason only Jens Voigt is older than him on the tour. It's cause every living human being older than LA is no longer capable of being competitive in the TdF.

Bodies break down with age.

Never mind. Was a joke about what riders respond to.

Echelons plural? Other than once in last year's Tour, when his own team mate went on the attack, can you think of another time?

I would like to think that the echelon stage last year was the wake up call that each DS needs, particularly for a GC DS. If any GC rider is caught out in similar circumstances this year, someone has not done their job.

Giro? Some hadn't learned it by May.

when was the last time you saw a 130lb rider win Paris/Roubaix?

About the last time I saw Lance ride Paris-Roubaix.

Anyhow, enjoy all those who believe in Santa and fairies.

Come on, don't stir up the haters. They're already upset that their prediction of thousands of new posters showing up is an epic fail. Along with the LA won't start illusion, they're batting about .02%(the very enlightening(at least for them) WSJ article finally made the scene and was worthy of 999 posts). Fortunately, as always, the antidote is the trusty old Clinic where they can pat each other on the back and knock off some crusty old fromunda artisan yellow to be served with the whine.

classic.........post of the day:D

meh...it was posted by someone who is more obsessed with Armstrong than anyone here. He swoops in, makes snipes and then runs and hides. Instead of contributing, he never commits to anything but insult. The true measure of a coward.

I'm not sure that it was an echelon, but the other event that had forum members saying wind is Contador's kryptonite was at this year's Paris-Nice. Caisse attacked on a turn into a cross wind and put something like 28 seconds into Alberto. I think it was Valverde, but either he or Luisle gave all the credit afterward to a DS who drove the whole course in advance and said that was the place to attack. Just like the one at the Tour, it wasn't instinctive, it was planned prior to the stage because someone did recon.

I'm sure that all of Astana, especially Vino, will be on high alert for wind changes. But the early days of the race the peloton will be nervous, and with wind changes and echelons guys end up touching wheels and causing crashes on flat, dry roads.
