Did he have to work for Sagan today or not? Even so only losing 1:20 is a good accomplishment.

No. Sagan didn't even give it a go. He was dropped as soon as they started Verbier.

Italy has so much talent right now that it's almost unreal. And Moser is definitely among the most talented.

When I was designing my CQ team I had to choose between the Moser and Battaglin bandwagons. I chose Battaglin's. I'm sticking to it goddammit.

I chose him and am very glad:). Will definitely be a GC contender in years to come. Even Basso thinks so.

Well, it is also some years ago since We have had a rider who has been able to win some major classics/monuments and also win a few gt's. (Not just like a gt rider winning fleche wallone once for instance)
But it will be very hard winning just a single classic in a few years with sagan there.

The real Moser couldn't win a GT as well. His Giro win was a farce that should have been won by Laurent Fignon.

To be fair, he was wearing a vest over a jersey and armwarmers. Plenty of guys can win like that. :p

This kid seems to have a bright future in front of him. Hopefully he'll land somewhere where he can reach his potential.

You think Liquigas is not the right place?

I don't think it's a bad place for him. It doesn't seem to me like there would be a conflict between him and Sagan.

I should have been clearer. If Liquigas isn't around after this year, I hope he lands in a good place.

I concur. They are different riders, there's room for both.

Today he did a great work as a domestique, pulling for the last kms and bringing the attacks back. Sagan himself said he was amazing.

Its really amazing that a rider of his size (177 cm and 64 kilo, according to the liquigas website) can have such power on flat road.

I'm very curious to see how Moser will do in today's ITT.
Not expecting too much. A top15 would be a great result nonetheless.

He's a beast. Can't wait to see him in the Ardennes next year.
Time and training will improve his recovery as well.

The thing about those Liquigas youngsters(ie Sagan and Moser) is that the year before they turn pro they aren't really dominating the U23 races or something like that. Moser was beaten in the GiroBio tt by Jakub Novak, and Sagan didn't even finish the 2009 U23 WC road race. Of course they won races, but they didn't show the class they seem to have gotten immediately when turning pro. (Not implying any suspicion about them btw)

Now they're already world class riders, right from the moment they turn pro, and at 21 years of age, they seem to have unlimited potential. If these two guys improve like this each year, they're going to be unbeatable in every race. I just hope I'm wrong...

Before today's race I thought Moser would have struggle to get a top 20
He's gone beyond any expectation. On a course like that, raced like hell. Amazing.

Yeah beyond anyone's expectations I'd say.
He apparently admitted he had previously never rode for 250km in his life, not even for training.

:D
I'd like to know how he goes on cobbles... if he's fine then we have our future all-monuments winner :D

Most of his best results have come on hard courses. No surprise to see him in the top 10. As if you could name 20 Italian cyclists who are better than him right now.

The harder the race the better it is for him. Thats a pretty unique attribute at 21 years old.

This guy is a natural. Top 5 in both the Nats RR and ITT in your first year as a pro, after all the other top-notch placings he has already. Not many aspiring riders who can say that at the moment, apart from Sagan maybe.

Fifth in the ITT one day after the immense effort of the RR.
Cataldo won.
Having a good result in the italian ITT is not that big deal :D
Anyway doing it after yesterday RR is really something ;)
I'm officially a Moser fanboy
