Classy ITT in the Dutch nationals today. 52km/h is nothing to sneeze at. Beating Dumoulin by 49 seconds just days after that guy won TdS timetrial is not bad either.

Behold, your new champion. Step aside Tom Dumoulin.

Certainly sounds better than beating Rick Flens by 42 seconds in over an hour.

Careful though, almost all TT specialists of lottonl have done more than reasonable time trials this year, seems the new bianchi bike is now finally delivering potential.

Indeed. Apparently Lotto-NL finally has a good TT bike after the huge fail of last year.

Yes it seems that the new bike is at least a normal ITT bike and not the *** of the last year. Van emden, Keizer, Tjallingi and flens, all have done good time trials this year, even gesink in Suisse.

Gesink rode great tt's on the Giant.
Mollema and Ten Dam also did really well the last year they rode on Giants.

Just a thought to you regulars - since we hope and expect that this will be the most interesting Tour in a very long time as far as Dutch riders and the only Dutch team are concerned - how about one of you starting a 'Dutchies in the Tour' (or similar) topic?

There we could talk about not only the Lotto boys, but also Dumoulin, Boom, Westra, Poels and Langeveld, all of whom might produce something worth talking about?

Shame about Kittel.

i expect most of the domestiques like westra and boom actually.

i havent much hope for the gc specialists. they put in meager performances. Only Mollema convinced in the Tirreno, but after that he was quit

btw wha happened with Mollema's form, he looked quite bad at Dauphine...is he on some different preparation (something like Nibali)?

Remember the fall Mollema had while in good position in Pays Vasco?

Well it turns out he had back problems since that fall..

ohh, thats a bummer :(

And he only figured that out at the Dauphine. They did some crunching spines and see the last dauphine stage... All of the sudden near the top again.
So he might still turn up good at the tdf.

I agree with Dekker-Tifosi. I have no high expectations from the dutch for the GC at all. A rider in the top 10 would be a big surprise for me.

Big disappointment for wilco today. GC is almost impossible for him, this is not the giro.
He should focus in stages and even in the KOM.

Still think he should try to top10 at the GC, and go for a stage win. He'll get some more rope to enter breakaways or attack early on the last climb, now that he is 5 minutes back.

It'll be a good experience for him to fight all 3 weeks, so he know what it takes.

He's already fought all 3 weeks several times. Maybe he should start thinking about doing something else for a change.

After a bad tour for him due to several crashes, he will be in the vuelta?
I see in PCS that he will be in san sebastian and eneco, but I think that he should go to the vuelta, he needs to fix this bad season.

He won't ride Vuelta, said it's too hard after Tour. Same for Gesink.

He certainly won't ride Vuelta.

It's really too bad he crashed in the Dauphine and had back problems. Then he was good in the Tour again (9th in the opening ITT) and then crashed again 4 times and hurt his back. I wanted to know what his level was like, but it didn't happen.
