Perhaps the greatest item on Froome's palmarès: turning Cummings into a domestique.

Good to see some pretty hard racing from early on - seems such a well designed course.

He dom'd a lot in the past, but yeah last years he has proven if he let him be he's worth quite a bit.

I'd really love for one of the Russians to win this or get a medal. Just to piss everyone off.

Im afraid the russians got what they deserved. I'm afraid they are not the only country though....

I'm quite liking the look of this course so far. Hills, cobbled section and now some cross winds offering up some possible echelon action as well.

Scenery is rather nice too.

Any english stream? the BBC have left the roadrace.

Try the link in the UCI tweet above.

Thanks but I don't see any livestream? Just some text updates?

The link seems to be going to the stream that has the rights in your country. For instance with me, it goes directly to the RTE stream in Ireland. It would be different for others.

GB with 4 in the first 6 like they learned nothing

Well so far only Stannard has hit the front which is ok. If they start using Cummings and Thomas though then yes that's a problem.

The others are still riding in the wind. In classics you can't do that all day. Way to go is to stay in the middle of the pack. Froome is not good enough steering-wise for that though.

Since they are hardly the only the country, but the only country that got the punishment, they didn't deserve it. Hence I hope one of them gets a medal today. It's long odds, but who knows.
