This race could completely explode on the first real climb. Riders need to realise that their ain't much domestiques to close gaps so attacking early could be rewarding.

With this heat and all these bidons falling out, surely quite a few riders are going to be seriously underhydrated and will bonk later in the race. Especially those in the peloton who can't get a replacement easily.

Disappointing that Cummings has been wasted working for Yates. Should have given him a free role to attack on the first run up the climb.

Mr. popular Wellens getting dropped. Two Belgians suddenly pop to the front to make absolutely sure he can't get back on. :)

Such a brutal race so far - surely one of the anaerobic beasts who can climb is going to win this. The pure climbers and rouleurs will be cooked already after all these changes in pace. Especially so if it continues right up until the big climb.
