Boardman did also say it was in line with every other rider getting paced back today though.

Its hardly a planned change. If it was planned Cummings wouldnt have been drilling it on the front still.
It looks like he grabbed a bike so he could draft.

That's a possibility, but since there are no race radios there's also the possibility that he didn't know (lacking marginal gains?).

And changing your bike to get a free draft despite not having a mechanical is even worse.

Big disadvantage to the smaller countries against the likes of GB, Italy, Spain and their 5 man teams...make it all the more sweeter if he could do it, though I think he'll be feeling the effects of the Tour :sad:

Are you guys watching online or on TV? I'm in USA and the tv coverage is about 2 hours delayed, so I'm watching the NBC online stream. Aussie commentators are good, but there is an automatic Coke advert about every 4-5minutes. Great race and scenery so far!

The NBC stream is ok, just too many ad breaks. Most all other streams are geo-restricted. The tv coverage is Phil and Paul. No thanks...

Yeah, but it was still incredibly unfair. If the teams would have known they can change their bikes after the first half and then draft back without being punished everyone would have done it.

Nico's form is good and it's a parcours he can do well on, best to have Roche cover moves at the front and have Dan to follow the later attacks and try and do what he does best.
