Anyone seen Stanimal? This Wawrinka guy is no match for a rampaging Nadal
Couldn't watch, but I did expect a rather easy win for Nadal. Playing 5 vs an average playing Murray isn't a good sign when Nadal is waiting in the final. I didn't expect him to only manage 6 games.

Only thing Wawrinka rampaged was a racket he only hit 13 balls with. :D

Murray may have been average, but Wawrinka was up and down. Everything depended on him. He really should have won in straight sets. The 5th set almost brought a bagel. I don't know why you thought Nadal would win easy. Wawrinka can play on this surface without major issues. He can really hit through opponents. Yeah Nadal is arguably the best clay court player of all time, but I expected a very competitive match.

Nadal was supreme today. The backhand deep and consistent, the forehand the nuclear weapon it once was. Even the serve was strong.

This level of play would have handled any version of Stan we have seen so far.

Lol.

Nadal won without losing a set. the whole tournament I mean.

This is the 3rd time he has done it. Fed only did it once (2007 australian).

But unlike Federer, and unlike the other times, Nadal wasn't even taken to a tie break. In the whole tournament. Only acheived once before in history (of open era at least - borg 1980).

Only Robin Hasse in the 2nd round was able to take more than 7 games off Rafa in a whole match this tournament.

Is this the best Rafa ever? Last year everyone said hed never win another GS.

Don't think so. Only thing that's the best he's ever been is the backhand, forehand is great too. However, he's still clearly a step slower than he used to be, and his serve has been way better in the past too. I think that in the past he's gotten better resistance at RG.

I should add that the circumstances today were absolutely perfect for Nadal. Hot and dry, the ball bounces miles up high, the court gets deeper, and Wawrinka can't hit through *** and can't run it down.

Nadal was a break up in the 5th set at the AO final. Had he managed to win that one, he'd now be at 16 slams to Federer's 17 and the only person to have won every slam at least twice.

That set may well have been an extraordinarily pivotal moment wrt the GOAT debate.

I felt Federer was better that match though. Nadal did well to get that far.

Muller having the season of his life, no doubt about it. It's a shame that he's had so many injury setbacks, he can definitely play. Remember him making the quarterfinal at the US Open in 2008, where he played Federer tight, but lost in straights. At 34, it's just impressive what he's done. He's at #26 in the rankings, but will move up for sure after the tournament.

Wait, why does Djokovic have to wait for Nadal to finish?
I think it's because Djokovic' match is a daytime match. Those spectators on court 1 payed for that.

And so Djoker/ Mannarino will have to play 3 days in a row while everyone else rests?
Basically.

Organisers in tennis are biased as hell and Wimbledon middle sunday is really stupid

Murray not looking great. Really struggled in the end of the second set and looked like a player struggling to stay in the top 100. His serve especially is floundering, but he is holding it together in the third - for now. But he has given away two break points at 5-4 up.

Querrey has completely blown an excellent chance
