Poljak u Irskoj:D

Apart from the fact that I'm not Polish, I just spent a quite a lot of time there. My first name is David, but obviously my surname is not Baranowski, although I'm sure that Baranowski (a real surname, Dariusz B. was a very good TTer and good climber in the early 90s) has much more in common with my real surname than Oldbornovsky has with yours. :) I guess from the language that you're a Southern Slav. Originally, I'm from between here and England, but not the island Cav is from. Here's a bit of that language (it just says where I'm really from)

Dw i'n dod o Gaerdydd.

i think I read where Mario called Jens Voigt "Boeing" about the same time I decided to log on here so it was the first thing to come to mind. I think it was Mario. no real thought into it and perhaps at the time I was going a little Jens fanboy

but it turned out to be nothing more than an invitation to the genius who is oldporn to call me Boring. Touche mofo I am down

yes i agree oldborn for Mod 2012.

Greenedge because of the Team ( I would have been devastated if they did not get a licence and they folded like Pegasus )

My sigs
1. We'd both be stupid if i agreed with you
2. Reminds us all to persevere, no matter the odds
3. Made about Greg Le Mond after he won the 1986 TDF/ I hoped it would be applicable to Cadel
4. Cav can never win a sprint stage on the first sprint. Heres' to hoping Goss can.

my usual moniker is my initials (dim) followed by space.. in the early days of t'web dim.com etc wasnt available, so as myspace was big at the time I grabbed dimspace and it stuck..

my usual signature is
"the light at the end of the tunnel is dim" meaning the light is dim, or I am the light at the end of the tunnel, or whatever..

Avatar - Chris Froome at the TOC, wrapped up against the cold...
LOL! At first glance, I had always assumed that your avatar was some sort of mercenary/terrorist. Chris doesn't scare me. :p

57 is neither my age nor my date-of-birth...it's a road! Granville is where it is.
It's one of favorites and I've ridden it many times.

My avatar is my one favorite sights when I'm out on a ride. It means that a fun descent awaits! :)

I found this video online of the route. The still-frame that appears under the title is a good indicator.

I've no affiliation with whoever posted it (so don't blame me for the soundtrack :p). You have to get about halfway in to get any appreciation for it. It's basically a series of about 10 separate climbs. The final, short descent, which is not in the video (which is bewildering to me because I swear it used to be) is so steep that you have to ride it CX-style: weight back, pump the brakes, avoid obstacles and hang on for dear life. Luckily, there's an escape ramp at the bottom for trucks to use if they lose control on the descent. I've used it a couple of times to avoid colliding with the barriers. :D

His name is Henryk Kwinto and he is a character (played by Jan Machulski) of the GREAT Polish film 'Vabank' (1981).

Henryk Kwinto. The monument in Międzyzdroje (Poland).

Then, the reasonable question would be: why KVinto, not KWinto?
Of course i could create some fantastic story :p, but the truth is simple: when i registered under this username for the first time (somewhere in 2007) i made the stupid mistake and then just got used to it :D

umm.....Maxiton?
waiting to hear from you....:D

I posted mine way up thread, to wit:

Maxiton said:
I originally came to this forum from another cycling forum. Over there, if I recall correctly, some people had been arguing that Lance Armstrong was responsible for introducing dopage to the previously wholesome world of the pro peloton. I thought that was a ridiculous assertion, so I took as my user name "Maxiton." Maxiton is, or was, the brand name for the form of amphetamines most popular with the peloton in the early 1960s. This was Jacques Anquetil's preferred brand, and while I may be mistaken, I believe it was also the brand found in Tom Simpson's jersey when he died.

I chose my Felix the Cat icon because I was tired of the Anquetil icon I'd used in the other forum, but also because Felix looks a little bit like what you see when you're on Maxiton, lol, or so they tell me. And Felix obviously has a sense of humor, a fact that suits me pretty well.

PS. It used to be, you could Google "maxiton" and come up with some pretty decent info about use of the drug in cycling. Now, mostly all you get are my posts in this forum. :D:eek:

But if you're referring to my new, sexy time avatar, just see my signature. As for Felix, he'll be back.
