Teams & Riders The Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe team thread

Bora on paper, has a stronger TdF team than Pogacar. The questions is whether they have the teamwork. Actually Pog's team is not really that interesting. He possibly has Bjerg and Majka. Pollit is over the hill. Soler too. Juan is having a bad season. Wellens is riding his own tdf. He should take the mexican - he is like a bottle of tequila on a bike.

Vlasov is like a russian caviar-fish, only getting older with age. Rogla is slim, perhaps actually a bit to slim.

Ähhmmm, have to say, that I disagree with most of what you wrote here.

Ayuso actually has a very good season until now. Bjerg and Majka are not scheduled for the tour. Politt also has a great season and will be a valuable helper, same for Wellens. For del Toro tour comes too early.
He has Almeida, A.Yates, J.Ayuso in his team, who would be leaders in all other teams then Visma, Bora, Quickstep and UAE. His team looks scarry, the question is more, if they can ride as a team with all their riders, who are not used to ride for a teammate and sacrifise their own chances...

It's an interesting debate, if it comes down to teams. UAE might be perceived as the strongest team and Yates likely to be key domestique in mountains for Pogi. Said that Vlasov really pulled through for Rogla at Dauphiné and Hindley could still deliver huge. Both teams with a lot of talent involved still a bit more more experience is on Bora side. Lets not forget Hindley is a GT winner.

I would have thought that such a media-savvy set-up as Red Bull would have had a big countdown to a fancy launch event, live on several platforms, of the Bora to Red Bull rebranding and revelation of the TdF team, at a well publicised time. Instead they leave us goig back to refresh the page on Twixxer every half hour wondering whether they have confirmed the line up yet.

UAE is stronger, by far. Pogacar is better than Roglic. Yates, Ayuso and Almeida are better than Vlasov and Hindley.

As much as I know the official launch presentation of the takeover is tomorrow

Rogla is arguably the best GT rider ever, which at least evens out UAE doms being better.
The GOAT of stage racing like @CyclistAbi says.

I think Hindley in peak shape is better than Yates, Ayuso and Almeida. He won the Giro with some watts bombs, and he was the third best man last year in the Tour before the crash. Unfortunately i don't think he is in great shape.

That Giro Almeida was sick before he eventually bailed, and he was not that far off. Since then, Almeida has shown some impressive performances, both in the 2023 Giro and now in Suisse. Maybe purely as a climber, but overall i would rate Almeida around the same level. But yes, Hindley won a GT, Almeida didn't.

Rogla was in charge to show up for the photoshooting but he missed a turn on the way there and later crashed. So they had to pick another date.
