No. I prefer to see him in the Giro 2026. This Vuelta is not made for him, specially against Vingegaard.
I expect Pogacar to want to win Giro+Tour+Vuelta in the same year, eventually.
That is obviously not happening in 2025, so maybe Pogacar won't race the Vuelta 2025, so João Almeida must grab this chance.
Who knows if Pogacar wll try to win all 3 next year... you never know.

So what if Vingegaard is racing Vuelta 2025? It's not like he won't ride the Giro 2026 for sure and if it's not Vingegaard, then Remco, Roglic or somebody else.
There's always going to be someone to give him a fight in a GT. It's better that is someone with tired legs after contending for the Tour.

A TdF podium would be almost like winning a Giro or Vuelta.

No. Ask the Yates brothers. One has a Tour de France podium, but the other has won two GTs.
If they haven't won a GT, a TDF podium is unfortunately forgotten.

Next year, I think Vingegaard will do Giro-Tour. He'll turn 30 in 2026, so he can't postpone it.

Yes, he was spectacular. No ego problem here but some compared him to Ayuso.
He does as he's told. But if it was all about Pog why would he comment on his own performance in every interview? He did it today again. I think they've possibly promised him to go for a stage.

Fantastic stuff from João Almeida today!!
In his usual fashion he lost touch with the front of the peloton (bad positioning strikes again), then came out of nowhere to the front of the peloton and immediately started his leadout for Pogacar.
Then when the group came back together he held off all attacks and pulled a 2nd leadout for Pogacar! Simply incredible.

The top teams (Lidl, Ineos and Redbull Bora) a are out of their minds if they don't make him a good offer and a leadership role.

Fingers crossed he manages to save enough energy after working for Pogacar and competes for a podium spot against Remco.

I'm expecting him to drop 1min tomorrow at least to Remco, but possibly to Pogacar and Vingegaard as well.
But it would be nice for him to gain a bit of time against every other top5-10 contender.

Btw he looked kind fresh in the post race interview. Great sign.

Lucky to not get a yellow card.

If I understood correctly they could give him yellow card if they considered his celebration as unsportsmanship behaviour? Or is an automatic yellow if you celebrate teammates win?

I think he didn't get the yellow, because he wasn't close to anyone and he celebrated a bit before the finish line. By the time he arrived to the line, he already had both hands on the handlebars.

Am I the only one who thought he almost had to "break" to not accidentally take the stage himself? I thought I was crazy for thinking so.

There has long been a rule against "Rider decelerating during a sprint and endangering other riders": the only change is that "celebrating in the bunch" was added to the list of examples.
