Tuckwell will be a WT Rider for Bora starting 2026 - Logic after the Giro next gen. Decent Rider for hilly and moutainous races. Will be a good domestique and should be able to Show himself in some smaller races (I am excited on the 2026 calender and the changes Bora will do compared to 2025)

Agree. Same for Thornley.
I expect their Mountain domestiques to be way better Next year

I Like the Transfer of Cattaneo. A Rider that knows that he will be a domestique for the GC guys and can do that very well. With the Tour de France and the opening Team time Trial in mind its also clever do have more possible options in the Team.

There was an interview with Vanthourenhout in Wielerflits on RBH. Internally they feel 2025 was a transitional year, and everyone is working hard to make sure that in 2026 the right structure has been build. Since the great performance during TDF, the team has been in a good mood which also reflects on their performance in the Vuelta.

There's a small jab at the end, maybe @LongtimeLurker can shine his light on this.

RBH want's to get everyone in the team in the best possible position, where everyone can contribute their value. Without going into too much detail, I think that was a bit of a problem in the past. Now everything is gradually falling into place.

I read that article yesterday and reading it in between the lines what Sven is saying is the team is ready to support Remco at the Tour 2026 and they will win it. Ambitious.

One remarks i have is this team already won a GT, so they are not chasing first GT win any more, or transition towards that, as that already happened.

You need to teach me how you can read such claims between the lines.

Sven discussed and acknowledges third place at the Tour and still a possibility of a podium at Vuelta, says that the classics season was underwhelming, but ultimately concludes that this was not a good season for RBH. Then goes on saying 2025 was a transitional year, on how now everything has/will fall into its place, and starts talking Remco. New direction, new vision, excitement, confidence ... He mentions youth but says in years to come. When asked if the team, climbers will fully support Remco, he basically answers it by saying they proved that can finish third in a GT, as in being capable. Concludes that winter will be long, regarding schedules, but before first training camp everybody most know their position.

Hence as for reading in between the lines, so basically in terms of GT racing an acknowledgment was given, that the team is capable of supporting Remco and in terms of results, third place won't cut it. That wasn't even enough for the so called transitional year.

P.S. But note that partially i agree with that, in terms of saying that third places in GTs won't cut it any more, for this team.

I think he meant the spring classics season wasn't good enough. Pretty sure they are happy with podium at the TDF with Lipowitz.

This is my translation:

No one in the team will deny that it was not what it should have been, and certainly not in the classic spring.

So i read it as in general, although especially in regards to the classics. Note that i tend to agree with the first part as one GT win was reasonable to expect. Unfortunately crashes prevented any hope of that.

P.S. One thing to take note of is Sven never mentioned Rogla in the whole article. So this is i guess something to put on the todo list, make Sven mention Rogla, one way or another.

The less he mentions Rogla, the better.

Btw about that transition period, I'm not sure that's true. They just fired a bunch of DS's and new ones are coming next year.

They were also saying 2024 was a transitional year. At some point they need to stop with this escuse of always being in transition

I agree that 2025 can't really be considered as being a transitional year, maybe classics. Unless i guess from the perspective of Remco and his transition. But from the perspective of Remco and IMHO 2026 will be the transitional year for him.

The less he mentions Rogla, the better.

Btw about that transition period, I'm not sure that's true. They just fired a bunch of DS's and new ones are coming next year.

Still, if Rogla is staying, eventually one will have to recognise that fact. On top of that if all stay and they don't win a GT in 2026, that would account for the ultimate flop.

Will be interesting to see how long he lasts in the team reading this.

Well he was asked to do an interview... Should he not respond? Honestly it's also not that harsh of a comment. He's just saying that some people were in the wrong position and weren't able to deliver their strengths.
There is another interview today, same tone, https://www.wielerflits.be/nieuws/s...e-rol-hij-bij-red-bull-bora-hansgrohe-krijgt/

Sven should respond by telling the truth. He was signed as an Ass. Sporting Director, it is on his contract when he signed it. He has nothing to do with Management of the team, nothing with the Performance Department, Medical, Development project,
For him to say he doesnt know his position or others, is outright untruthful and in a Team and Organisation like this where people in their roles and positions are very capable and carry more experience than Sven, I can not believe they to happy reading this what he says.
