Lipowitz contemplating whether to grow facial hair like Rog and Evenepoel so he too can look profound and thoughtful whilst scratching his chin.

Evenepoel's facial hair after presumably 2 months of not shaving is perfectly indicative of how long the period of perfect training he needs is to battle the other dudes for the 3rd place in the podium.

Roglic meanwhile last shaved 2 hours ago and is ready to smash a 20 minute climb while hungover.

What do we know about Lipowitz's schedule other than the Tour co-leadership?
From PCS

29.01 Trofeo Ses Salines
23.03 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya
28.04 Tour de Romandie
04.07 Tour de France

So Lipo + Remco at the Tour and Rogla at the Vuelta: that's what I thought was most likely (it also implies Remco for the classics: natural choice). The biggest question mark for me was if they would send Rogla to the Giro but they opted for other strong stage racers from their team. Tour de Suisse for Rogla then to complete the 1-weekers set, I guess.

If I were the DS I would send Rogla to both Giro and Vuelta (with Pelizzari/Hindley/Vlasov as secondary leaders) to maximize chances at all GTs.

With the risk that you lose Pellizzari to a different team because he doesn't get leadership status, and Roglic fading year by year because he's getting older?

I dunno, it's also possible that he demanded a full leadership at the Vuelta (doing two GTs as a co-leader seems more attractive though).
It would've been more interesting at least. They really have an issue with too many leaders, or at least too many leaders to ride multiple GT's. Luckily Finn will take a while, by that time Roglic will probably be more of a mentor if he's even still riding then.

Yes, they have 3 guys in top6 of GT racing plus Hindley, Pelizzari and Vlasov on top of that.

Roglič didn't want to do Giro, he said that himself yesterday.

We don't know much about Lipowitz schedule, but since Roglic is riding Tirreno, it's fair to assume Lipowitz does Paris-Nice. On top of that he'll also share leadership with Evenepoel at Catalunya.

I hope Jonas and Almeida do Catalunya as well, that would be something
I can see Almeida definitely riding it, otherwise he would do the same as last year which might get boring for him. So a change in plans would be good for him I guess.

Vingegaard never rode it. So it should also be time for him to try it at least once in his career.

Only a road cycling forum would ignore/ not discuss the RB plane event……….

I’ve often felt RB is wasted on the deadly serious road cycling world……

If he's the real deal, he takes what is his. If not, he's not worth the dime anyway. This snowflake, pampered attitude isn't beneficial to raise the biggest and strongest both physically and mentally which obv goes hand in hand.

Success isn't given. It's taken.

In that case Pellizzari took it last year

You call that success? The bar is low over there then. Look I just don’t believe in this mindset, you dont raise true characters by pampering them at a young age: throw him to the wolves, if anything its a luxury problem to have and if he’s ready, he comes out as the leader if not, well, on to the next.

Im only saying this in correspondence to your claim that Roglic wasnt sent to the Giro in order to prevent Pellizzari to leave the team.

Apparently Roglic didn't want to ride the Giro. But I disagree with the pampering statement, it needs to make tactical sense too. You can't just say the 3 of you (Roglic, Pellizzari, Hindley) can fight it out during the race (Giro).

If Roglic didnt wanne ride it then its another story and my point goes out the window entirely ofc, he def shouldnt be selected then indeed. But I just responded to your claim about risk of leaving.
