It's not still considering his form the inability to hold on the advantage from ITT when climbing, beaten by Pogi doms, that would count as a setback. Said that i feel that Remco got this one under control.
Today was a complete Christmas gift for Del Toro, he was probably happy with @5 to go that none of the sketchy near misses turned out to be non crashes. Del Toro looking at teams with good sprinters who found themselves in bad final sprint position probably feels triple lucky. Even if Remco takes back some time in the short TT , Del Toro is still under pressure on stage 3 which is basically a drag race to the base of a leg crushing climb, Remco can just sit and spin, eat, drink, get ready. UAE has to chase everything and with the conditions, the typical UAE of keeping things heated on the front, drop off leader at climb or near it are going to be harder.
Internet might think Del Toro is interchangeable with Pogacar he isn't, not close. He might end up having to do some work on stage 3 before the climb,
I hope teams don't race to conservative and really go after UAE. I don't know what Del Toro has written down for TDF goals but I expect it's more than just finishing and I don't think that UAE has some share plan at Strade or any other race where Pogacar is present.
Bora has some cool looking cards to play, If it's not Remco they have other options. If they were boxing I would pick Isaac because he has the reach on tiny Remco but as far as amount of fight in the dog..I just get a feeling that Remco is angry about something and it's not Lipowitz or Roglic..
** semi weird internet thing, there is lots of speculation about something wrong at Camp Visma***
..Ben Tulett is a good racer, getting better he looked good, I hope Visma can keep him out of trouble.
