At least he's motivated, would be good to see him take at least 1 decent win the rest of the season. WC ITT, WC RR, UEC RR or Lombardia.

Given the course, and the fact that Pog is likely to participatein all 4 of them, I can't see him winning one of them.

As I said, in time trials yes he is. He probably will be overall by the time his career finishes. Not yet. As a junior yes , great.

Racing up a climb is much more "pure engine". It's sustained engine power per kg weight.

Remco is a pure engine in that, he is best on a time trial bike in the world, and not very big, good on smaller climbs, with his talent in the race of truth he should arguably be better in other races but he isn’t. That’s all I meant by ‘pure engine’

Well yes, but if we judge anyone against Pogi they look a bit ***, so it's a pointless comparison! Remco still has an excellent palmares for his age, Pogacar doesn't change that.

I don't think it's likely at all that Pog will participate at the European Championships.

Also, Pog is going to Canada and there's only 1 week between GP Montréal (14/09) and WC ITT (21/09). With the time difference and travel between Canada and Rwanda that doesn't seem like the best preparation for an ITT to me. But maybe I'm overestimating the travel burden.

It's an article with Stijn Steels, not Tom Steels.

Also, the small part about Evenepoel aren't direct quotes from Steels so it could just be the journalist/newspaper writing that stuff without double checking.

I think the article offers no new insights or interesting stuff on Remco, apart from the fact that Cal Crutchlow is apparently still in the picture for descending skills training (at least for the women's team).

In the (now increasingly unlikely) scenario that Remco stays at SQS I hope they take a page out of the women's team notebook and make Remco work with Crutchlow this winter as well.

I can somewhat understand it wasn't a priority in the past few injury filled seasons with all the rehab that had to be done but if he has a 'normal' winter there really is no excuse to not work on his (weak or at most average) descending/cornering skills even if it's obviously not as big a problem as for Gigante.

What! Gigante's descending have not improved one iota in the last 12 months. Sometimes we have to accept that riders can only get to a certain skill level.

Remco descendig was not bad this year. Sure at time he takes his corners wrong, and his positioning can be better.
But his descending on stage 12 in the tour was good.

6 races aren't so much.

His real problem this year is his cornering when in the middle of a group, he always lose a lot of places. Crutchlow is not gonna change that.

That's why I added the countries. It's 5 hard one day races + 1 ITT which probably requires at least some specific prep + a whole lot of travelling in between.

Anyway my point is not that it's not possible but that I am surprised of the inclusion of the EEC RR in his program.

6 races in 4-5 weeks. That's fine. There is even a full week between Canada and WC RR. Don't think the travel will get to him.

Maybe not but I still wouldn't like to see such a schedule if it were Remco.

I'd also like to see the confirmation of Pog's presence at the EEC. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I only found comments of the EEC race organiser that he hopes to see Pog (and Vingegaard) at the start as it's a climbers course and there is no clash with other races at the same time.
