Evenepoel will get higher if he keeps riding for the next 5 years then I guess... I don't understand the formula. If he doesn't ride any ITT anymore but just riders his bike for 5 more years does he get higher on the list?
They explain it. You get points based on relative performance vs others (based on their yearly PCS ranking for TT only) and it is for a whole career. So those with a long career and a continuous focus on TTs (more TTs per year) will be better than those who do not, even if they have the same TT capabilities. A better approach would be to use a relative ranking based on the 5 best results and only take in to account the 5 best years or something similar.
Indeed. The picture Logic posted a few pages ago from right before the ITT shows his physique. Definitely not too heavy. Like they said, in Ardennes form, which means he's more explosive, and has a better sprint too. I can see him win a sprint against the top 10 riders on such a course.
It's BS, because you have to consider the relevant high stakes, performance and distance, which the trend today of shorter TTs and their relative rarity skews toward past riders.I wonder how PCS created their ranking for this.

The simplest answer is when it becomes commercially interesting enough. And in that case it would most likely be shortly after the road season.
Probably once he has won Lombardia at least once so there's room at the end of the season to prepare for that

He could try it anyway within a few years. Merckx is begging that he should try it and apparantly Remco's father also said he would likely be interested but they didn't discuss it yet. So he will probably go for it if he can go all in and late season might give him the opportunity (and the shape to do it). I can't see it happening during his first year at RBH so we will have to wait.
The reason for not doing it is singular for specialists: if you don't succeed it is a tough investment to write off. You can't ignore that loss as it is all you and for a tt'er that could define you.
Like Rick said, Evenepoel could break the record in his sleep. Just schedule it somewhere in the timeframe close to a big ITT goal (WCC, OG...).
