until Remco wins the next TT against Pog and than we will go again in the circle. I remember Logic said about 5 yars ago there will come a time when Remco will drop Pog on a climb, still waiting for it....
Then you need to pay better attention. Already happened in 2021, ECC RR.

But I can't remember saying that and if I did, nobody could predict what happened in 2023-2024 at UAE.

The amount of lies surrounding Remco is insane.

Just will leave here some hot takes:
1. Remco is pretty honest in his interviews. Even 3 days ago, he said ECRR was more important than the WCRR because he lost to Pogacar in the RR, when he said he wanted to peak for Worlds after his Tour's disappointing performance.

2. His 2nd change of bikes in Kigali.

3. His "broken rib" and suboptimal preparation in the Tour after saying he was in great shape before the Dauphiné

4. Blaming his team for his poor performance in LBL

Just this year, 4 times he has been incoherent. Multiple times he says one thing and the day/week after he is saying the opposite.

The problem is not just with Remco, it is his fans who still "feed" this and say he is on par with Pogacar on flat sprints (until this moment what evidence they have to show???), he is on par with Pogacar in hilly classics (again, what evidence?).
Third best GT rider (this year) based on what?

It was also wishful thinking for Pogi during the 2023 TDF where he got absolutely demolished.
In fact they were very equal for 2 weeks and no one knew who would win. Tell me when Remco was able to be on par with Pogacar/Vingegaard in a GT. I don't know if you are trying to taunt me with that post but it won't work, mate.
I don't have any problem to say Pogacar was weaker than Vingegaard in the 2023 Tour or to say Pogacar is miles behind Remco in TTs.
But Remco fanbase has some problems with Remco not being able to sniff a big win against Pogacar in 3 years.

If you start to fantasize about the facts, then surely it is more easy to think people are lying.
He broke his rib after Daubhiné during NC.

Who on earth said he was the third best GT rider this year, when he didn't even finish a GT? You are posting disingenuous BS. There is a big difference between people saying he is the third best GC rider based on overall talent, ability, past results, age and potential, in a scenario where everybody is free of injury and has an ideal preparation. In optimal conditions, please tell me who YOU believe is better than him, please tell us so we can have a laugh in the future.

Wait a minute, what?
Just see this thread and many Remco fans said Remco IS (verb to be in the present) the 3rd best GT rider. So we are talking at the moment/now, it's incredible how you are now trying to disturb what was actually said, coming with excuses these things were based bla bla bla. Oh c'mon.

It's difficult to have a conversation when you are clearly incapable of either reading or reading comprehensively. Then answer the question at the end please.

You are misreading what Logic meant.

Remco Evenepoel is the 3rd best GT rider this year.
Remco Evenepoel is the 3rd best GT rider, which was said this year.

What fans of Evenepoel are saying, is that Evenepoel is the 3rd best GT rider. Fans have said that this year. But that's not based on results of this year. Like Logic said, he didn't even finish a GT this year. No one is saying he was the 3rd best GT rider of the season.

Always funny when you base your opinions on Ifs. Actual facts don't matter (of course they don't matter. Let's forget his performance in the Tour).
Lipowitz is the third best GT rider and not Almeida unfortunately.
Next year, I think Del Toro will be the third best GT rider IMO.

I wanted to break it down one by one, because you don't seem to have all the details, or deliberately trying to put a negative spotlight on Evenepoel.

1. He wanted to peak for this whole period. You don't peak for a single race, when you have 5 major races in a timespan of 3 weeks. He peaked for WC ITT - Lombardia. If he actually feels UEC RR is more important than WC RR, I don't know. That's not a lie, that's an opinion. I doubt that's the case though. WC RR is just more important. Although he really does have a thing for finishing bingo cards, so I would also not be surprised if he would prefer to finish this one now.

2. What is a lie here? He said there was an issue with his saddle, because that's how it felt for him during the race. So that's what he said immediately after the race. Staff said everything was fine. So Evenepoel afterwards said he was in the wrong, bike was fine, and it was probably in his head or his body due to the old bike being wrong and body needed time to adjust again.

3. Broken rib happened during NC, has nothing to do with Dauphine. Nonetheless this was indeed a lie, because his training didn't even go well. Is it normal for a athlete to say beforehand he isn't feeling good? Thinking you might grow into the GT, and thus by saying you are not feeling good give the possibility for your competitors to attack you early on? I don't think so. So it makes sense to say he is feeling good. You don't give free opportunities to your competitors.

4. Even though this is not something I believe you should do in interviews. He was right. His team performance wasn't good. They didn't keep him in the proper position. Evenepoel himself was also not good, but neither was his team. So not sure why this is a lie. Evenepoel himself said he wasn't good during Liege, he never said he lost Liege due to his team.

1. No
2. Also No
3. See above

I don't really understand all the back-and-forth between the Remco fans and Pogi fans and the apparent frustration of Pogi fans regarding claims made in this thread.

I don't think anybody (not even Berniece) is actually saying or believing that Remco is a better rider overall than Pogacar.

But as fans, we can hope, imagine and even believe in scenarios where Remco might be able to come out on top and become the better rider. You can call that wishful thinking but we are still allowed to hope and dream about such scenarios even if they seem far fetched at the moment.

If you get frustrated about certain claims and want to gloat that it never has happened and never will happen and even want to throw around generic insults about Remco's fanbase, I suggest you simply ignore this thread.

This is not aimed at anyone in particular, just wanted to add this regarding the last few pages of this thread.

FYI, I'm not frustrated, are you?
