In Algarve he lost 3m26s to Evenepoel over a similar distance.

Did he go all out or not though. He's big(ger) and is capable of pushing big watts, so why wouldn't he be good at TT'ing.

Anyway, he's clearly not going for GC, so I doubt he'll dig too deep in this TT.
He'll be more an ally for Remco than anything else imho.

Just guessing, but given his background he might not have spent at lot of time tuning his bike-position in wind tunnels, and isn´t as aerodynamic as Remco, for example.

Lost around 20" to Ganna over 10km in EdB, so I guess he can ride a good TT if needed.
But it's kind of irrelevant here.

Indeed, i didn't expect he would attack so soon (8km before the top and in the first week). Was thinking he would hold back a little... but of course that is not who he is. It works or it breaks kinda guy.

Love it. Looking forward to the weekend to see if he will try or can do something before the rest day.

He has this Vuelta in the bag, just needs to stay crash free. He will gain minutes on everyone in the TT as well.

He's lucky Jay Vine isn't going for the GC.
Hmmm. Is he? Would Vine have been able to do that today if he’d been fighting for GC this week? I dunno. Great performance by Vine, no doubt, but will he repeat? He lost almost 10 mins the day before.

Can you imagine the (negative) reaction if this was a certain young Belgian who said this?

Just pointing out the consistent double-standard.
Well, Pidcock needs to step up. In his current generation, he will have to fight established, young superclimbers like Pogacar and Vingegaard, phenomenons like Remco and Ayuso, and of course Bernal who we don't know about. Then you have the likes of a Hindley, relatively young, and a supertalent like Carlos Rodriguez.

Anyways, I cannot wait until the TT. I want to see Remco smash the race, and then I want to see everyone in the 2nd and 3rd week trying to take back those 2-5 minutes that I think he will have against the opposition after stage 10.

Not only that, he faded big time in the tour as well. Iosing 20minutes on Hautecam, more than 6 minutes in the final ITT. Heck if remco would have such results in this Vuelta, his GC ambitions would have been striked through, nailed down, shot, bombed and burried by the masses.

Difference being, Pidcock went into the Tour to work for the team and trying for the odd stage, he achieved both. Remco goes out to win everything he enters as he's their leader. Pidcock also does other racing other than the road. Different riders, different objectives. Don't all winners have to have some arrogance about them?

Wait, though, because there are still two MTFs before the TT.

Totally but in my case, I've always found Pidcock to be arrogant.
Wow! I like Pidcock. I'm not even sure I'd go brash let alone "arrogant". He seems to understand his capabilities and answers questions reasonably given how talented he is. He's certainly confident, and certainly should be. He knows who he is, and still seems to have a good sense of humor. Seems like a cool guy to me, I'd knock back a beer with him.

This isn't the 2003 Vuelta where there were nearly 100km of flat ITT. This is only a 30km ITT. I only expect Remco to earn 20-30 seconds against Rog over a course this short

I don't think that you consider Pidcock working for the team as a personal achievement as he didn't work much either.

Sure winners often have some arrogance but thinking that there is a good chance of winning the Tour during his career with Pogačar, Vingegård, Evenepoel and others that may come, seems a little bit too optimistic (arrogant)
