Yeah, I have a hard time believing that this is gonna happen. Unless they know something that we don't knw he's trying to defend his Tour win.
From the rumours and talks I can see either Roglic or Wout going to the Giro (and getting a nice payday from RCS), but I doubt this is gonna happen.
Big news that riders can state their preferences for their schedule or that GT teams aren't locked up in mid october of the previous year tbh

What if Remco does the giro and the first half of the TdF as a warm-up to the worlds? It gives him experience and a great chance to win a stage as he won't focus on the GC. He is also an asset for Jacobson in the lead-out to the sprint. It may make him not very popular if he drops out for no reason but (former) poster boy cyclists such as MvdP have done the same (not to critisize MvdP here, I am a fan actually). Or maybe this just a crazy idea ...

Not crazy at all.
Tour would be a nice buildup toward the Worlds and his GT development.
Just a little paradoxical to use the biggest stage race with all its challenges to prepare for the Worlds.
Nothing shameful, only risky.

I don't think Vingo will skip Le Tour in 2023 au lieu of El Giro. Jumbo Visma cannot rely on Roglic to take over. Even with Wout leading the way I doubt they can take down Tadej. The Slovenian will be hungrier and more focused after being defeated last year. I'm trying to think how Jumbo Visma will play it...maybe they send Roglic to El Giro since his luck at Le Tour is so bad. Come to think of it, it's all pretty much in the air still. As far as Remco goes, I strongly believe he will only go for El Giro.

I agree with most of your post but its Il Giro, not El Giro.

Vingegaard has already said he'd like to defend his title in 2023. The article is just Zeeman saying they'll ask the riders their preferences..

I do think though that now Jumbo have won the Tour they're a little more interested in winning the Giro as well, but if Rog and Vingegaard both say they wanna do the Tour I'm fairly sure they'll just race both in the Tour again.

Remco relocating to Alicante in Spain for winter to avoid media distractions and the like. Handling the fame smartly so far...MvdP should just tag along and stay out of trouble since Mathieu likes that region too and they've trained together before.

Wish I could just relocate to beautiful coastal Spain to ride my bike right now...

Most interesting point from that would be to know whose preferences get priority in the pecking order.
