Much harder race than last year, and this year there was a big tailwind in the final as opposed to headwind.

I think this is exactly the expected result rather than an outlier if you factor in that Pogacar crashed out.

It's the same yes, and nobody said any differently, if one were reading attentively, but it shows Remco was the only match for Pog in the Ardennes and he for him. What a loss today.

What a win, in style! Another monument solo win. Good decision to start here. Looking forward to the Giro! After the Vuelta only the 2nd GT I can cheer for a Belgian. That's 3 weeks stress instead of 1 day. But I'm optimistic, it's looking good!

Pidcock and Pogacar would have been with Evenepoel, I'm only not sure if Tadej would have attacked first. And then Remco would have kept the pressure on, which killed Pidcock, but would it have disloged Pogacar? If not they go to the line together.

Pog put 2+ minutes into Pidcock and other guys at Amstel (except Healy). He's a monster of attrition races, especially in this weather. I think it would've ended up in a sprint with the Slovenian winning. Then again, such speculations don't make much sense. Remco was the best and crashes are part of cycling.

You would expect Pogacar to stay on when Pidcock drops. But you never know, good days, bad days, whatever, Pogacar crashed out, Remco won convincingly and we most likely missed an exciting duel. Oh well, next time hopefully. Start a campaign to have them both ride the Vuelta.
