Looking forward to destroy both Jumbo riders when he’s in top form. Mostly because Vingegaard won’t be at the same level as in the Tour

I sure hope Vingegaard won't be at the same level because otherwise this could become a rather dull affair when it comes to the GC battle.

But it's sure going to be exiting to see how Remco progressed and if he can mount a challenge to Vingegaard (and maybe peak Roglic).

I don’t think peak Roglic is an issue. We’ll never know what the Giro would have given but I think he would’ve won that easily

Remco will be waiting for Skeletor at the Giro and I doubt the Dane will accept the challenge (beating weaklings at the Tour instead).
If Skeletor succeeds in being the 4th rider doing the Tour-Vuelta double.. He should consider the Giro-Tour double next year and also write history to win 3 GT in less than a single year + Giro-Tour double is only a couple of times as well.
So don't think Remco doing the Giro again gives him a possible escape :)

Let's make a poll here....by how many minutes remco will lose to Vingegaard in the tour 2024?

A-2 minutes
B-4 minutes
C-6 minutes
D-8 minutes
E-10 minutes
Maybe lets see after we know how he rides this Vuelta.

Also, i doubt he would put vingegaard on 2minutes let alone 10minutes. (or are those not intended as negative values?)

He thinks it could also work out as an advantage for Remco.

“Ik schrok er ook wel wat van. Jumbo-Visma gaat met een mastodont van een ploeg, maar het moet nog altijd gereden worden. Misschien kan het een voordeel zijn dat wij volledig voor Remco rijden en zij twee kopmannen (Vingegaard en Roglic, red.) hebben.”

So if Remco wins the Vuelta, people will say:
1. Vingegaard was not in the best shape because of the hard Tour;
2. Roglic was not in the best shape because of the hard Giro;
3. Ayuso is still young;
4. Geraint Thomas is too old.

So another Mickey Mouse race on Remco’s palmares…
Yes, all of those things will likely be said and more I'm sure - Mas and Carapaz hadn't recovered from their Tour crashes will be another one

To me #1 is really the only legit one. If Remco wins, he'll have taken a lot of scalps and will deserve all the credit in the world and should go into next year's TdF as as a clear podium favorite after JV and Pog. And I say this as not quite a Remco hater but definitely someone who is not a fan.

The opposite can be as much true as well:

If Remco loses, then...
1. he must be ill;
2. it wasn't in his racing program and it's only training for the Tour;
3. Jumbo is not riding clean;
4. He's still young. Give him 5 more years to beat Vingegaard

:)

If I follow the precedent from my previous post, I'd have to say none of those would be legit.

some of them don't change depending on win or loose.
1, 2 and 4 are likely though :)

And actually related to 2: Remco focus for the WC ITT might compromise his absolute climbing peak. (e.g. he chooses a higher weight, also for the Giro, to be better in the TT).
We don't know how it affects him since he never completed the Giro. I think one of Remcos biggest fans (Logic) was rediculing Remco for this choice leading in the Giro.

this is very good. but you are missing the one that has always made the most sense:

"No one else was trying."
