Mountain bike man cant be bothered.what is your vo2 max? ;-0
Almost every GT contender projects a healthy (meaning manageable) weight loss over the course of a stage race. Start too light and you risk fatigue and recovery issues. Start too heavy on early hilly stages and it won't matter what the later plan is; you've lost time. Can he fluctuate his weight so much as to be ideal for the races he targets, against the route, and against the competition he faces? There's never much talk about other riders and their weight, only this lad. I can't understand the obsession with his weight all the time.
That's not true at all. They used to do this, but not anymore. Weight fluctuations aren't good during a stage race. Dumoulin extensively talked about this during on a dutch podcast.Almost every GT contender projects a healthy (meaning manageable) weight loss over the course of a stage race. Belgians love their Remco and much of the speculation follows less successful big climbs.
At lease Patrick is too busy ruining Julian's career to care about Remco's weight.
His way for losing weight at Giro wasn't healthy at all))That's not true at all. They used to do this, but not anymore. Weight fluctuations aren't good during a stage race. Dumoulin extensively talked about this during on a dutch podcast.
Dumoulin actually gained a bit of weight during the Giro he won. Regardless of dumps taken by the roadside. His way for losing weight at Giro wasn't healthy at all))
They used to do this. Question is whether someone informed SQS that that is a big no-no.That's not true at all. They used to do this, but not anymore. Weight fluctuations aren't good during a stage race. Dumoulin extensively talked about this during on a dutch podcast.
Don’t they have a new diëtist that they took from Visma? They used to do this. Question is whether someone informed SQS that that is a big no-no.
They do NOW.Don’t they have a new diëtist that they took from Visma?
Not sure if this the job of the diëtist or performance coach thoughThey do NOW.
That's not true at all for whom? You'd have to search a bit to provide us with GT contenders or podium winners that ended up heavier than they began. That's not true at all. Coach and rider, then the nutritionist recommends how they can fuel it and it takes all of that to be a contender. A good example is Mateo Jorgenson now on Visma. He needed to pay his own nutritionist while on Movistar to get the quality of information to allow him to train more. His performances last year showed the benefit and I haven't heard that focus on a specific weight as goal for those improvements. I'd guess it was quality and recoverable volume that was most important. Whatever, he improved and got the deal for his immediate future on a dominant team. Not sure if this the job of the diëtist or performance coach though
Every 1 day classic you put him he'd be one of the strongest. Even more so as long as Asgreen and Alaphilippe don't reach the level of Tratnik, Jorgenson, or Laporte.QS was saying, put Remco in opening weekend and he'd be one of the strongest
The wolfpack has become the Remco pack these days. Remco is their classics team now
I don't really rate him for Lombardia anymore. Maybe if his level is higher this year - but right now, no.Every 1 day classic you put him he'd be one of the strongest.
I haven't seem him ride any Lombardia in proper form without any issues, so I wouldn't rate him there.I don't really rate him for Lombardia anymore. Maybe if his level is higher this year - but right now, no.

Wrong thread?Watched the end of Kurne Brussels Kurne. Mateo J was controlling the 2nd group on the road to assist Wout's group gap. Good start to the Kid's year with Jumbo.
....and QS is driving out Julian. Maybe they never planned to use him and just want the money in the budget. Hard to say but a motivated JA could hurt them if he was a vindictive sort.QS was saying, put Remco in opening weekend and he'd be one of the strongest

More about the challenges facing Julian and QS for combatting JV.Wrong thread?

Alaphilippe has a brilliant palmares and comes home to Marion Rousse. Somehow, I don't see going on 6-hour training rides just to get back at QS as a big motivator under those circumstances.....and QS is driving out Julian. Seems like a premature RIP. Lefevre likes to manipulate his riders to make them race harder but he may have just motivated a serious combatant that will end up on another team. I'd actually enjoy seeing that. He’s done. Put a fork in him. They all sunset sooner or later. It’s his time
