Neither is that an assumption, nor is it reasonable.Hadn't @Froome crashed, he would've at lest 5 TdF's.
Had Froome not crashed he might have won in 2019.

I always felt Nibali was in the best shape ever during that TDF. But I have no clue about the numbers he was pushing, compared to what Froome/Contador normally do.2014
Froome could had won 8 Tours France and finished with 4.2014
Froome had a worse preparation for that race than Contador.Conta would have won 2014 had both stayed on their bike. See vuelta
I would argue Contador *should* have won 6 Tours but ended up with 2 on paper (3 on the road). If you really want to stretch it, he could have won up to 9. He was the dominant GT rider 2007 - 2011 and reached peak again in 2014 after steak related setbacks and crashes.Froome could had won 8 Tours France and finished with 4.
2012 a gift to wiggins.
Crashes in 2014 and 2019.
Bad decision doing the Giro in 2018 before the Tour, instead of focus on the fifth.
I agree with you between 2008 and 2011.I would argue Contador *should* have won 6 Tours but ended up with 2 on paper (3 on the road). If you really want to stretch it, he could have won up to 9. 2007 - won
2008 - not allowed to participate but would have won easily (won Giro + Vuelta)
2009 - won
2010 - won on the road
2011 - rode Giro due to outstanding case and crashed in Tour
(2012 - 2013) - not going to argue about these because there are too many conditions here
2014 - still in dominant shape and beat Froome at Vuelta with really strong numbers
(2015) - crashed in Giro, crashed in Tour, probably could have done better but not going to argue this one
I agree with you between 2008 and 2011.
In 2007 he wasn't the strongest in the Tour.
In 2007 no way. Rasmussen just lost 30 s to Contador in the TT of the first week.never doubt the ability of Rassmussen to have a truly awful TT
Conta taking 3 mins out of Rasmussen was very very possible

Wasnt Rasmussen gifted a few minutes to Tignes and Contador suffered a puncture so he had to attack the Klöden group twice? After that they were evenly matched?I agree with you between 2008 and 2011.
In 2007 he wasn't the strongest in the Tour.
Almeida isn't a winner. What has he won?[content deleted]
Almeida isn't a winner. What has he won?
Nothing to brag about.João Almeida
João Almeida (born 1998-08-05 in Caldas da Rainha) is a professional road racing cyclist from Portugal, currently riding for UAE Team Emirates. His best results are winning GC Tour de Pologne and winning GC Tour de Luxembourg.www.procyclingstats.com
This line of reasoning is not very commendable.Nothing to brag about.
A winner is someone who wins big races regularly. This line of reasoning is not very commendable.
A win is a win.
Otherwise you celebrate cycling superstars and nothing else. Which with some strict criteria would leave Remco out.
Lol, in what world? Only when you need to have won the TDF. Then if you also need to have won a monument in this criteria, there's only Pogacar left.Otherwise you celebrate cycling superstars and nothing else. Which with some strict criteria would leave Remco out.
There is agreement that Pogacar and Vingo are in their own category regard GTs.Lol, in what world? Only when you need to have won the TDF. Then if you also need to have won a monument in this criteria, there's only Pogacar left.
Define regularly.A winner is someone who wins big races regularly.
Celebrating someone who wins something sometimes is another thing.
Almeida isn't a winner, but he has won some races occasionally.
Geraint is a former winner, I doubt he will win anything more.Define regularly.
I can't see how Geraint Thomas is not a winner and I can't recall the last time he won something.
Either way, the point is the same.
OK.Geraint is a former winner, I doubt he will win anything more.
Google the word if you want to know.
Right, the world champion and liege winner is not top tier in classics. There is agreement that Pogacar and Vingo are in their own category regard GTs.
Pogacar additionally has in MDVP his rival for classics.
Remco and Roglic are 2nd tier.
Again, I'm not stating that you should cherish only top tier riders. I'm only stating that arguing thus impoverishes cycling and that additionaly reasonable criteria can be found that would leave Remco out.
