I think the majority of posters you are talking about/to are not Belgian. And they are also not claiming he will beat Vinge/Pog in all GT's they meet. Lopez was considered a real rival against Roglic in the past, he is also here and he has also not done Giro or Tour, just like Evenepoel. So, when Roglic won his Vuelta's... who did he beat actually? All C-tier riders going by your logic. He beat a 89 year old Valverde in 2019 and a 20 year old GT debutant. The others he beat were Majka, Lopez, washed out Quintana, Knox, Hagen, Kelderman... In 2020 he won on boniseconds by beating Carapaz who had already done the TDF that year, Carthy, Mas... In 2021 he beat Mas, Haig, Yates...Exactly, he hasn't won yet and yet we need to read about "uberhuman" Remco that will challenge Vinge/Pog in all GTs they meet. Remco still needs to win his first and when he will, he won it against C tier Mas and injured/crashed out Roglič. And that is a race Remco prepared for months ahead, not a "last chance" race others come to save a season or crashed before it and had 2 weeks of training. Remco is nowhere near top form A grade GC riders. Can he get there? Maybe, but he's not there now at all. So all this Belgium salivating over Remco and diminishing Vinge/Pog/Rog and others is ridiculous.
All haters must love cancer and hate excellence.RDS

“I actually signed the shirt, but it was more about the lack of respect for my recovery. That man didn't give me a minute to recuperate (laughs)", thus Remco in Het Nieuwsblad. To be honest:
I only regret the situation for the kid, but I understand Remco.
- He already expessed his 'anger' with the loose measures by the race organizers and the Spanish people when it comes to Covid. He wants to do all he can in order to keep the virus out.
- The guy just throwing that shirt is a dozen times more impolite, in my book.
I never said Roglič is A class rider. I already posted here Vinge/Pog are A+ and A, Rog in best form is A- but he doesn't really bring it, because of crashes before or during TdF. Remco is B to B+ max right now. Vuelta was never R. main objective. It was Giro one time and then only TdF, where he was second (against A tier guys). Remco still needs a lot of work to be second in a GC race against A list guys let alone win it. His win in Vuelta will be against C class Mas and out of shape/crashed Roglič. Nothing more. No need to hype him up as the next jesus.I think the majority of posters you are talking about/to are not Belgian. And they are also not claiming he will beat Vinge/Pog in all GT's they meet. So... if Roglic only won his 3 Vuelta's by beating C-tier riders... what exactly makes him an A-tier rider? Because basically, he has only beaten the same level of riders as Evenepoel.
Something to ponder about.
I think they changed the wording over the years. This way the 3k relates to the incident, and not to being duly noted within 3k."gamed the rules" - what? Since when do the rules indicate in words or meaning that a rider has to stop immediately when he has a mechanical now?
Here's what the rule actually says:
The incident must be duly noted in the last 3km, nowhere does it say it has to originate within the last 3km. If Sagan breaks his fork 5 km from the finish and wheelies into the 3km zone, there's nothing preventing him from getting the same time as whoever is around him at that point. He just has to make it into the 3km before stopping.
That's not gaming the rules, that is the rules.
Finish
2.6.027 In the case of a duly noted incident in the last three kilometres of a road race stage, the
rider or riders affected shall be credited with the time of the rider or riders in whose
company they were riding at the moment of the incident. His or their placing shall be
determined by the order in which he or they actually cross the finishing line.
Is considered as an incident, any event independent from the physical capacity of the
rider (fall, mechanical problem, puncture) and his will of remaining with the riders in
whose company he was riding at the moment of the incident.
Riders affected by an incident are asked to make themselves known to a commissaire
by rising their hand and report to a commissaire after the finish of the stage.
If, as the result of a duly noted fall in the last three kilometres, a rider cannot cross the
finishing line, he shall be placed last in the stage and credited with the time of the rider
or riders in whose company he was riding at the time of the fall.
This article shall not apply where the finish is at the top of a hill-climb.
Decisions related to this article are taken independently by the commissaires’ panel.
Can you link some posts where people say that he will blow Pog and Vingegaard away? A lot of people are saying that he can ride a podium in the tour with this kind of form, but I haven't seen proof for any of your claims. Thank you for providing it.There are plenty of them here and in Vuelta 2022 page, in Roglič page..all over the place.
lol, please don't tell me you don't see or understand the difference.Once again wheelsucking the aggressive Mas in order to then suckerpunch him. Ugh.
Don't tell me you're so bad at sarcasm that I need to tell you it was sarcasm. Well, you already kinda did with that post.....lol, please don't tell me you don't see or understand the difference.
He would need to win more races than there are in the calendar. What are the odds of Remco having already a better palmares than Valverde by the end of next year?![]()
The problem is that people actually talk about Evenepoel like that with zero sarcasmDon't tell me you're so bad at sarcasm that I need to tell you it was sarcasm. Well, you already kinda did with that post.....
WhatHe would need to win more races than there are in the calendar.
But he wil certainly finish with better palmares, Valverde has perhaps the most disappointing palmares compared to talent of any rider.
There have been too many false positives on the matter, lol.Don't tell me you're so bad at sarcasm that I need to tell you it was sarcasm. Well, you already kinda did with that post.....
Yes, but I thought I had established that I actually know cycling, hence why I hoped you wouldn't take the bait.. well, I kinda hoped you would still actually. There have been too many false positives on the matter, lol.
Also possible that he only noticed the puncture once they hit that little climb. Which would make this a very different story from a backdated TUE.I think they changed the wording over the years. This way the 3k relates to the incident, and not to being duly noted within 3k.
Currently this is what it says:
But i don't think the discussion should be about that. Rather that the claim that he punctured before 3k is based on nothing but conjecture, and the more logical conclusion based on his Strava and roadside fan video's is that he punctured within the 3k zone. That is in case one really wants to continue this discussion, lol.
