Maybe Remco has so much power they dont bother with trimming him down too much o_O Plus its not just about an additional 1 kg of fat (this wouldnt give tt advantage) so even more difficult to change during a GT
1,5 kg @ 6.5W/kg, would mean he needs 10W additional power to maintain his climbing speed. (which doesn't sound a lot, but it is a lot on that level. difference between 6.5Wk or 6.35W/kg).

Lets hope they are rounding up and his real weight is 62,5000001kg and in the vuelta they rounded down and his real weight was 61,9999kg.

If going up wasn't possible, how did they know? Sombody saw the conditions and thus the road width before, but nobody says anything until the eve of the Giro? The teams have no idea of the course of such a potentially decisive stage until just now? I don't buy it.
How i imagine these things go, is that it is common knowledge that those mountains are snowed shut and that the roads are closed by local authorities who will communicate with Giro organisation when the roads will be opened up. Chances are teams would not even be allowed 10 meters up the road before the roads are cleared.

Obviously I was joking a bit. At this level 0.1 w/kg (6-7 watts or 1 kg) is significant.

Reported weights have been fabrications as long as I’ve been watching cycling. I wouldn’t give it another thought if I were you. He‘ll be in the form he’s in.

Ganna must have checked his calendar and noticed it's no longer 2021. Who would have thought, right.
I also want to apologise for starting the discussion which resulted in half the forum telling me i had no idea what i was talking about last year during Tour de Suisse, where i had the audacity to imply Evenepoel is a more gifted TT'er than Küng. My formal apologies.

Man, just be happy that your boy convincingly won instead..

In the interview he basically said that he'd just save as much energy as possible until stage 9. Chances are he will just obliterate the field and Roglic will be at about 2 minutes.

Those 2 minutes don't mean that much going into the mountains though, but I think Remco is the strongest there as well.

Logic starts with an L. The difference between GOAT and GLOAT. I've been called insane one too many times when i was simply stating facts and logical deduction.

I'm not sure he will be the strongest in the mountains. We'll see.

yeah, wouldn't say he will the best man in the mountain either based on this TT. Hart and Almeida looked very strong. (and Roglic has been climbing better this year than his TT results would indicate).

But great win, at least he won a stage and wears pink. So that are 2 objectives out of the way.

We are all at the mercy of the whims of certain people.

About 60. He gave 2 interviews right at the start, in one he said below 60, in the other he said between 60-61.
If he was at 61 in that Giro, i don't thinck he was the same weight in last year Vuelta. I've never seen Remco so thin ever again as when i came back from the crash, and for the good, there is a limit on how much you can cut your weight before you lose power and also the ability to recover. His weight is a bit of mistery, like for all GC rider.
