Going back to the the WC topic: I think that Remco will be marked by the top teams. I still expect him to go in the earlier rounds of the Glasgow circuit but he will get a bunch of favorites and 2nd line favorites with him, probably including MVDP and Pogacar. The strategy will be: "If Remco goes, join him." Those with their leader in the bunch will not work but leaders such as Pogacar and MVDP will. The reduced bunch will probably stay relatively close, sufficient to bridge the gap, but the race will be too hard for the sprinters and helpers. The hard race benefits Remco but also Mvdp, WVA, Pogacar and Pedersen. It may end up in a sprint between a few of them and the energy level will have more of an impact than sprint speed. If it rains heavily, Remco is at a disadvantage versus the others. His chances are good but not exceptional on this track. I give him a 20% chance to win if the weather is relatively ok and 10% if it is bad.
