I'm really positively surprised by Remco and how he came from adversity. A lot of GC guys would have a bad day liek that and call it quits. But he regrouped quickly and has now won 3 stages, mountains jersey, and maybe there is more to come. Hats off, he really is a people's racer.

That‘s supposed to be an O? Looks like he‘s eating an invisible burger.

Aru won a GT, never showed anything since.
Aru was actually leading the tour for 2 weeks and ended up 5th in 2017.
His career as a competitive GC rider was short, but he won a Vuelta, had two podiums in the Giro and another 5th in the Vuelta in addition to the 5th in the Tour.

If you are trying to claim Aru wasn’t “Grand Tour Material” despite winning a grand tour you are trying to falsely revision history.

So unbreakable that he gave up on Spandelles. And haven't dared a direct match against the best on the climbs since.
"Giving up", or whatever you wanna call it, was clearly the best option at that point.

Chances are he will head home with 4 stages and KOM. Look at riders like Mas, Ayuso and Landa, what have they done exactly? Im a fan of all of them, but come on, aint nobody will remember their races. I'd much, much be in Remco's shoes.

Kron is an excellent climber, too, and took it easier, the last two days, before today‘s stage. Nevertheless, Evenepoel today beat him by more than five minutes. Two different worlds, almost - or: difference between top world class and lower world class.

All in all, Remco showed great performances, great entertainment, at this Vuelta. He however certainly won’t be happy, because the Tourmalet stage mustn’t happen to him. It‘s acceptable only if it won’t repeat. He now had his big, big „jour sans“, and will do everything he can to never let this happen, again.

He now has all the experience he needs to ride a Tour de France, and certainly can’t wait for 2024‘s Grand Depart… :)
