Superb win today again from Remco, both in terms of tactics and sheer power.

But I’m not betting against Pogi this year against anyone, on any course but a flat one.

Incredible ride from an amazing rider. Wow! Truly an extraordinary generation we are witnessing. I’ve seen a lot of chatter about OG gold not mattering much…lol. Get out of the forum bubble. Most people literally don’t know the World Champs exist. The only thing that *might* be more prestigious in the eyes of the world than double gold in the Olympics is the Tour.

Vuelta, Giro, Worlds, etc…I hate to admit it, but the world just does not care. Huge boost to already impressive palmares.

But here goes: I don't know what's gonna be more interesting: folks saying Remco should try Flanders due to his success today on that course; or the fact that they're absolutely right.

Didn't think I'd ever suggest a 135lb-ish rider should try that race with winning in mind, but I didn't think I'd see Pogi crush it last year either.

Evenepoel had an amazing trip to France since June honestly. Lacking in CdD but got a win and knew what he had to work on, third best at the Tour with a stage win and podium, and now dominating both Olympic events.

But here goes: I don't know what's gonna be more interesting: folks saying Remco should try Flanders due to his success today on that course; or the fact that they're absolutely right.

I would like to see him attempt Flanders also, as well as MSR. Mini peaks for these and LBL, then full peak for the Tour.

I actually think PR may be the easier one for him to win.

That is the race where he gets a gap, it is over as it is a flat course. Nobody would have a chance to bring him back

Less forgiving cobbles to survive. He would have to genuinely become Fatco to have a chance, and even then bike handling could be an issue. So a big no from me.

I understand why Lefevre wants to send him to San-Remo and Flanders. Flanders especially. I mean it's in flanders (sponsor), it became better suited for riders like him and Pogacar with the route change. And it's a monument. At the same time, cause of Basque. Remco hasn't suited up to win (they way he intended 2) for the second part of the spring classics. Now Fleche Wallone probably does not suit him as much. But i would have enjoyed to see him have a go at it, just once. Amstel Gold should suit him very well. As much as i look forward to seeing Remco at Flanders and San-Remo. I would have thoroughly enjoyed watching him giving those races a go as team leader. (not as domestique for Alaphillipe)

That qualifier is the main thing though, if he is in the same shape. The kid has smoked the games though, so I would say his season has been a huge success. He definitely has the capacity to win the RR and/or the TT.
