We will see what red bull brings but many people show promise in their youth, it just doesn’t happen for everyone in the end, I believe that’s what’s happened to Remco but we will see
Yeah he showed promise and only has a WC, Vuelta and 2 monuments to show far. Didn’t deliver at all

Morally irresponsible of remco to transfer to bora, it will cause this thread to go into meltdown and self destruct. See you in Fausto thread where nothing notable or exciting ever happens, so the thread is very relaxed and welcoming. Fausto is a gracious giy

Well, I suppose Remco is an overhyped cyclist who could never win a proper race, most definitely when Pogacar lines up as well.

Now that we established that, we can all look forward and congratulate Remco when he goes against all the odds and manages a win in anything that is not a TT. After all, him winning any race is more than what people seem to expect from him these days.

I for one will be rooting for him to rise up against the odds and get a couple of nice wins under his belt in the coming years.

Good move for him to try and maximize his GT potential. I would also like to see him ride MSR next year in addition to AGR and LBL.

More importantly I hope he has an unscathed winter so that he has the best opportunity to perform to his potential - whatever that may be.

He is clearly obsessed my trying to win a TDF- that is understandable as it is the biggest race but think he could easily expand his palmares even more if he focused on the monuments and perhaps sought to add a Giro to his Vuelta. However that is not why Red Bull signed him.

Also think Worlds next year he should be favourite with the anticipated course and the Belgium team overwhelming strength compared to Slovenia.

I think he will show Rasmus Tiller and Jenthe Biermans who's boss in Gooikse Pijl next month.

Also, I think he'll win the world championship but who cares about that...

The move won't magically make him better. However, I do hope that, what I assume is a more modern cycling outfit, will improve upon his training and he will be much more 'optimized' to race a GT. Clinic stuff aside, I think SQS is very old school and I think Remco is following training that is about a decade behind and is not focused on GT success. So, now we have a chance to see what he can do with a more optimal set up - better, same or worse!
As you said, he can be better simply because his training will likely be better...that's the magic.

Pellizzari and Vlasov are also strong riders along with Roglic and Lipo...Remco is in good company with Bora. Now hopefully no crashes or illness and 2026 may yet be his best year.

It's kind of a cliché to think Quickstep are that far behind the times. In fact it was Bora who were quite oldschool until recently, and Evenepoel's new coach already worked there. His current performance coach Koen Pelgrim is quite young, and has of course guided him to a grand tour win. I don't think the training philosophy has been the problem until now.

I for one don't expect any miracles like Pogi's new coach managed to do.

But the big question is:
What does this mean for L A N D A ?

No miracles needed. Just a year of consistent training without injuries and he will be at Pogacars level. Can't wait!

there will be no mentoring between Remco and Primoz, they actually get along very well together. It will be more of a comradery and trust relationship, and a sharing of new tactics that one or the other could use to their benefit and the benefit of Bora...in my opinion they will push each other to higher levels
