gotta love the remco derangement syndrome.

sure, so now remco has to beat pog in 24-25 form at every race or else he must truly suck and be a failure.

as noted elsewhere, MVDP would never have followed remco 73 kms from the finish. never. it was all over after that. also, Mads Pedersen literally chose not to travel to Australia after seeing remco at the Vuelta. he said it would be pointless.

wait a minute, would MVDP have then handled pog this year in Ronde? after all MVDP was recovering from illness and on antibiotics that weakened him. oh, no, we don't do the same bs with any other rider but Remco's wins.

I just love the false-equivalency also of saying that pog had injuries to overcome "as well". Let's compare: pog broke his wrist just as he was about to take a break anyway to "refuel" after the spring. He missed LBL -- that is all.

Meanwhile, remco crashed at Lombardy in 2020, had to abandon the 2023 Giro while wearing the pink because of Covid, crashed hard ruining his 2024 spring and rushing his TDF prep, and crashed hard again before the 2025 season ruining his season prep. No excuses. Sh!t happens and in some instances, I have no problem saying he may be at fault for bike-handling issues (Covid and postal truck door, surely, need to be excluded). So to equate the two -- in terms of time forced away from competing at the top level -- it is not even close. LOL!

and of course no mention of the fact that remco had crashed just before the only two days rog took any seconds back in the 2022 Vuelta. LOL! meanwhile rog's a$$ had already been firmly handed to him on pretty much every GC stage up until then. Lol. Lol. And LOL again.

I have absolutely zero problem saying pog is on a completely different level since the start of 2024. There is no competition. None.

but the pog fan boys' world view seems to be really threatened by an oft-injured, much more relatable, human champion, it's pretty sad (for them), frankly.

But honestly, Koen is a younger guy and I cannot attest to what exactly he is or is not doing. But I think a change would do remco good (like the song says), because he seems to struggle in a few ways that I think coaching/a different approach could help with. I don't follow your arguments completely but I assume you are saying that he is too much distracted and too emotional and should focus on winning? You are reading too much in all those social media post and youtube videos. He is 100% focussed on his job and winning races. Maybe he is too much focussed on it sometimes as he should take more time for his injuries to heal.

Remco should be ditching all of the pre-history hype about his lineage potential and his family management involvement. It's time to be a f*cking pro on all levels. He can quit listening to social media and Logic's constant weight considerations and ride with guys that make him hurt a bit; not on his schedule. That will make him a better bike handler and less programmable like the TT automaton he's been trained to be.
Go to the Alps, turn off the power meter read-out and ride with young guys that want to prove themselves. That's the stress that Vindegaard, Pogacar and anyone else that wants to win a GT need to deal with. Not the comparative metrics from his past or the other GT guys. If he can learn to hang with Lipo and Primoz on training climbs he's on a good track. If he can't; his destiny will be races that don't tax that. Accept that and have a great career; absent mopey photos in the back seat when he's quitting on stage 8 or whatever.

Thing is, we say let the road decide, if Lipo and Remco were at the tour together, who works for who.But would Remco lower himself to work for Lipo? I doubt it

And you know this how?

Because I follow him since 2018 and read what he says? He is a local so he was early on my radar.

He is focussing on what he said as an 18 year old. He wanted to win the GTs, become world champion and win LBL (his favorite monument). He also said he likes the championships more than the classics. He also likes to TT and wanted to be WC and win every major TT event. The guy has basically been in a rush to win everything on his bucket list since being a junior. Winning the giro and the TdF are his major remaining targets. That is what drives him.

He had three opportunities to win the giro but a crash, being not recovered after this crash and covid stopped him in his effort sofar. For the TdF he understands that he needs to be at his ultimate best and his team too. Frustrations with his injuries give him a hard time mentally and the fact that his team can't grow with him explains the move to RBH. He was and still is in full focus mode on what gave him the energy to be a pro cyclist as a teenager.

What does let the road decide mean according to you? If both are at the TDF and Pogacar attacks, the road decides. They can both ride however they want, and it will be decided later on who has to work for who based on their results during the TDF.

Why? He literally worked for his teammates multiple times. The only one making it a problem is you. Out of nothing.

This talk of Remco going into the Tour as a domestique for Lipowitz is crazy. If he goes to the Tour, it will be as at least a leader. If he pops again, as he sometimes does, I think he's more useful as a stage hunter as in Vuelta 2023. He's so small that he doesn't provide much windbreak.

My guess would be Remco and Lipo at the Tour with Remco as the stated leader, and Lipo there as a major threat. Not sure what else makes sense from a team POV.

I find Roglic's situation in all this a harder read. Could definitely see him going for a Giro or a Vuelta, and wouldn't rule out all 3 of them doing the Tour next year. Suisse for sure makes sense. I think for the GT's my early guesses would be...

Giro - Lipo as leader
Tour - Remco as leader (1a) with Lipo as (1b)
Vuelta - Roglic as leader

Dunno. Will be interesting to see how they use all that horsepower.

Would love to see Remco riding the Giro FTW in 2027.
