Hey now, LR did give him the highest W/kg for that climb even though he got droppedI think it's insane to say that Evenepoel was just as impressive on Sierra Nevada as Almeida was on Angliru.

Remco didn't beat anyone this year in the Tour. The logic is that Remco is not a GT rider cause he could not win a GT against a healthy Vingegaard and healthy Pogacar.
Meanwhile Almeida, Pidcock and company are GT riders cause they could not beat a sick Vingegaard.
And Almeida is therefore also a better GT rider than Remco. And a healthy Remco would barely crack the Top 5 in this year Vuelta.
Solid logic.
Can't wait to see a healthy Remco next year.
I haven’t seen anything that Remco is not a GT rider? Likewise didn’t see anyone saying that Pidcock is a better GT rider than Remco… If you didn’t see this Vuelta how can you make any sort of comparisons? The logic is that Remco is not a GT rider cause he could not win a GT against a healthy Vingegaard and healthy Pogacar.

Just re-read the remco forum. It's all there.I haven’t seen anything that Remco is not a GT rider? Likewise didn’t see anyone saying that Pidcock is a better GT rider than Remco… If you didn’t see this Vuelta how can you make any sort of comparisons?
Been going on for years, and even after…he won a GT.I haven’t seen anything that Remco is not a GT rider? Likewise didn’t see anyone saying that Pidcock is a better GT rider than Remco… If you didn’t see this Vuelta how can you make any sort of comparisons?
Cunego is the ‘in vogue’ Remco comparisonBeen going on for years, and even after…he won a GT.
My favorite was when someone compared his talent/ceiling to Thomas De Gendt. Admittedly that was years ago, but still makes me laugh…
Who said Remco is not a GT rider? Not me for sure. The logic is that Remco is not a GT rider cause he could not win a GT against a healthy Vingegaard and healthy Pogacar.

What are you saying? Try to not put words in my mouth, please.Reality is, if Almeida is the rider you all make him out to be, he would have won this vuelta.
He did not. In the end he barely finished ahead of Pidcock.
What excuse, you said you saw something Evenepoel never did. I think Evenepoel Sierra Nevada stage was just as impressive. That took grit. Never seen Almeida in the trenches truly fight for it. He settled for second this vuelta as well. Remco would have at least tried.
I can think of none.Obviously i'm adressing the crowd who posted what i was referring to.
Yes, i watched that stage now. I'm sorry but that was not as impressive as you made it out to be.
I can think of several GT stages where Remco was more impressive.
De Gendt makes sense in terms of attributes, but not in terms of levelBeen going on for years, and even after…he won a GT.

De Gendt is a solid rider, but no. makes no senseDe Gendt makes sense in terms of attributes, but not in terms of level
I have no idea how that makes sense to anyone. RDS is my only answer.De Gendt makes sense in terms of attributes, but not in terms of level
This is Remco, pre crash or not.I will say this. Next GT Remco enters, i won't take it as certain he'll finish the race, let alone podium it.
We all had the opportunity to see Remco after his best season ever in the Giro and Vuelta (2023) and his results were horrible.I will say this. Next GT Remco enters, i won't take it as certain he'll finish the race, let alone podium it.
Too much has happened, and i will need to see remco prove himself again. Which i don't like. Cause Remco seems to need to prove himself again and again, far more than other riders. But i would need to see it first again.
But if we're talking about a Remco pre-winter injury, and assuming he can return to where he left off. It's an entirely different matter. And to say that that version of Remco is not a GT rider, and would not crack top 5 this vuelta, and is worse than the riders riding top 5 here. I can't take that seriously. Aside from Vingegaard, whom i feel would have been able to dig deep, deeper than what Almeida seemingly managed to push him to.
We both know that if i respond with why his giro failed or that he was in pink when illness came you'll just be calling it an excuse. I would also take Remco 23 over Almeida from an overall perspective. Just GT wise it's harder to choose. Almeida got a podium and a stage. remco got 5 stages and polka dots. From a performance perspective i would tend to take the podium over polka dots. from a legacy perspective, i rather have the polka dots. only fanatics remembers podiums. Only what was won is usually remembered. We all had the opportunity to see Remco after his best season ever in the Giro and Vuelta (2023) and his results were horrible.
Everything can be an excuse. The ability to stay healthy is one of the main strenghts of world class GT riders. We both know that if i respond with why his giro failed or that he was in pink when illness came you'll just be calling it an excuse.

It is when you lose over half a minute, and it's not like Evenepoel never had help from a teammate or that Mas and MAL never did their own work. *** made no sense, and it's not the only time LR have nonsensically boosted his numbersIt's not surprising if he was setting the pace on a shallow section and lost little time, is it?
Idiotic take. Pogacar had COVID before TDF '24. How would it have went if he had it during TDF? And we literally had to hear from Pogacar fans that the only reason he wasn't as good at the end of the TDF was because he was sick...Everything can be an excuse. The ability to stay healthy is one of the main strenghts of world class GT riders.
Not true, they gave the best W/Kg to MAL then to Remco, which makes perfect sense if you watched the race.Hey now, LR did give him the highest W/kg for that climb even though he got dropped
