It feels like it will be really chaotic. There are quite a few guys who could be dangerous and might want to go along to catch out Pogacar/ Remco. Ayuso and del Toro could both be hard to bring back.
I think Pogacar, and thus likely Remco as well, would follow if either of those guys decided to go early. I don't offhand remember how (if) del Toro has performed in monument-length races before, but his form is excellent right now.

In one day races? How many times has Tadej successfully chased Evenepoel? Zero I think.
If by chasing you mean to exclude those times when he chased, dropped and beat everyone then zero is the number. Remco was among them in those instances when you meant to exclude Tadej had to option to drop everyone....

Interview with Koen Pelgrim, performance coach of Evenepoel and SOQ. Nothing new was really said besides that at the bottom of the first climb Evenepoel had a lead of 15s, and at the top 45s. He seems to hope that the combination of Remco having done altitude training, and Pogacar not will be enough for an exciting race.

Strava says 19 seconds, not 30, and 31s on the section before the climb. But I think it ifts if they mean an earlier point which isn't the start of the real climb but the lowest point before the climb.

Indeed, because on the map that lowest point is also in a corner right before going towards the climb.

Absurd position. Will go down as the greatest time trialist when hes done.

Martin won WCC ITT 4 times but did not win the Olympics.
Cancellara also won WCC ITT 4 times and won the Olympics once twice.
Wiggins won WCC and Olympics ITT once each.
Rogers won WCC 3 times but no Olympics.

So he only needs one more to match Cancellara (edit: and another Olympic title). Some people will keep insisting Indurain or Anquetil are still better regardless of course, since they could never become WCC ITT champs etc.

I wonder how PCS created their ranking for this.

yup. super weird.

why is armstrong even on there for starters?

and Maertens should be much higher, even though he only had 2-3 good years.

They explain it—they use the cumulative total TT ranking of a rider in each year they competed. So it makes sense that someone who only performed well (no matter how well) for only 2-3 years won’t Score as high as someone who was a good TT-er for 10 years.

All time TT ranking

What is the best time trial rider of all time? If we were to add all TT points per rider it would favor the riders active in periods with a lot of time trials. Therefore we applied a point scale to the position of a rider in the TT year ranking. This way riders active in different periods have an equal chance. Riders that rank high over a longer period are in favor with this method, but having the discipline to perform each year is a valuable quality in time trial.

Basically worthless. Ganna is well ahead of Evenepoel in this ranking. Even Wiggins.
EDIT: lol, and Küng, wtf
