Remco maximized his results. It would be 4x easy gold for Remco if he wouldn’t have to race against Pogacar. He really made most of his late season sofar. He should be happy.

Yes a good effort today- kept digging and showed courage going for it. Lombardia to go. Pog will be tough to match but it’s bike racing so he has to put himself in a position to capitalise if Pogi not himself.

This is why i couldn't ever cheer for somebody like Pogacar. He already has the most annoying fans, no need to add one more.

I will honestly never understand how this forum doesnt have rules against people constantly being negative in a particular rider's thread and then being so precious about someone telling said people maybe they should be somewhere else. @AmRacer you think Remco is nowhere near Pogi, ok, I think you've made your point by now.

If not for Pogacar, we’d be marveling at Remco’s shocking solo victories and dominance in championship racing. Still an incredible rider.

Remco already has a spectacular palmares himself and outside of MvP the only one really willing to take it to Pog.

With a better winter he will be able to challenge Pog in the Ardennes which I think are Remco’s best suited events (other than Fleche where i think Huy will always give Pog an advantage that Remco will find hard to overcome). I think it would be nice to see him ride MSR as i think that would definitely suit him particularly if Pog races aggressively as it would add another dimension for the whole race if he was able to be there to give MvP two protagonists to worry about.

Like I said, he doesn’t mind losing when others are just better. He doesn’t want to have the feeling of “what-if”, which is very understandable.

Good race, and good end of the season. Pogacar was just better. He wanted more but should be happy with 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 2nd place at Lombardia.

Agree. Pogacar is clearly in a different league forget him. Imo it only discredits Remco , who on his own is honestly a very special rider from these showings. Just as thats true, Remco is equally in his own league here thats obv.

Both the WC and EC were brilliant showings. Hope it continues, lets not forget hes also properly the best TT of all time and a very high level on these races too, thats unique, Just cause Pogacar is Pogacar realistically doesnt make Remco bad at any levels, on the contrary when he performs like this. One doesnt equal the other. A very special rider overall on his own.

I don’t think he should forget about it. What’s the point of racing if you don’t go for the biggest goals? He can ride a season like Del Toro, but that would get boring really soon.

He has a target to work towards. Maybe he’ll never achieve it, but races are more fun if the likes of MVDP, and Evenepoel challenge Pogacar even if in the end Pogacar wins.
