RB leaders being kept apart I think, they don't want any drama before the tour so they will end up with weird schedules.

He can win UAE if they have the usual parcours and he doesn't turn up looking like he's been on the chocolate ice cream.

Well, I wouldn’t say Catalunya will be used to prepare for Flanders, as he actually has a chance to win one of them — and I’d bet it’s not the latter.
I think it's like MVDP riding Tirreno to make sure he's at his best during MSR. Some riders need that extra spark in their legs before starting again.

His schedule wasn't completely correct. No Flanders for Evenepoel... They want to take it slow, and no risks... Very dissapointing.

He'll start with an ITT in Mallorca and then go to Valencia. Between Valencia and Catalunya he might ride another WT stage race. UAE Tour/Paris-Nice/Tirreno. They haven't decided which one yet. Depends on his altitude camp.

Disappointing indeed.

Looks like both the so called Plan A (Giro) and Plan B (classics oriented with possibly RVV/MSR) have been ditched.

It does sound like it is not all set in stone though so I hope they might change their mind during the season.

Also, he wants to start with a ITT at Mallorca. I didn't know there was an early season ITT at Mallorca? Is that a new race or am I missing something?

I could’ve sworn they were doing a TTT instead at Mallorca this year?

It's good they are giving him freedom to hunt stages at the tour. Shame they are no sending a strong team to support a GC star like pelizzari, hindley or lipovitz

Also if he's no ready for flandres, why not get him ready with some smaller classics. ????

Very disappointed with Remco's schedule he had two worthy paths for him this season, either Giro-Tour-WC or classics (not just Ardennes)-Tour-WC but this one is just a boring schedule that at most could land him the win in a WT stage race like Catalunya or an Amstel.

Didn't Remco say he wanted to face Pogi as much as possible and all this talk from him about wanting RVV, MSR etc? Feels kinda meh when ends up with this lackluster thing.

Hopefully they put an onus on him improving his general climbing and consistency through this stage race focus.

I see it as realistic. I already explained why I think he'll have difficult to win Flanders and why it's dangerous for him.

But I expected him to go to San Remo because it doesn't affect the calendar.

People say we're in a cycling era with more complete cyclists than before years, but really only Pogacar is complete. His two main rivals, MVDP and Vingegaard, couldn't be more specialized. Vingegaard doesn't even go to the World Championships like other Tour de France winners used to, even if it was to help a teammate.

While I'm disappointed by his schedule, I don't think it's too unreasonable. Maybe see how much he can progress in the new environment and if he is able to somewhat limit his gap to Pogacar/Vingegaard with very cautious approach and based on how he performs (relative to them), build on the next years.
