I think it's the race that suits him best. Just one climb.

Del Toro has struggled on long stages with more than one climb, especially in the Giro. UAE Tour is the oposite.
Short races with an uphill or one mountain are what he does best.
And still there are riders that are better than him besides Evenepoel. We’ll see who rides it in the next few weeks. Would be funny to see Ayuso win it

Gonna need more time but not sold atm on the new red bull kits. The blue sleeves look a bit weird atm. Atm i very much prefer last year kit. Maybe they will grow on me

I wouldn't necessarily say better. Of course they can beat him, but its not a given.
And there's a time trial. He us pretty inconsistent TT rider, but maybe he can gain some time.
Also Jabel Jais being uphill sprint means free bonuses and this may be enough

Not a big fan of it either. But I don't hate it. Luckily Evenepoel will ride most of the time in a leaders jersey ;)

That's true, but if someone like Onley is also joining, I'm not sure he wins there by default

I mean, Pogacar is the biggest guarantee you can have there but thankfully he's not going. And Almeida is a better climber but more likely to lose time in the echelons if there are any, plus he's racing at home in Portugal. So Del Toro is pretty much the best they have. Ideal? No but still good chance of winning

Yeah, that's true. I don't if UAE rather have Del Toro win against random riders, instead of paying for a decent line up and make it challenging.

Onley will lose time against
Del Toro in the time trial, and I doubt he'll be better than him on a single-mountain stage.

Only a superlative 2025 Ciccone was superior in a similar stage in Burgos.

If none of the Tour leaders go, he's favorite for the UAE Tour.

I dont know what the definition of struggling is, but he came 2nd in the Giro and would have won if Chris Horner was the DS

Skipping FW is so "must avoid getting beaten by anyone not named Pogacar at all costs"
It’s mostly a shame because if he knows he isn’t winning the last sprint, just go all out the second to last time you go over the Mur. See who goes along and try to take turns. Makes the race more interesting, and improves your odds. If it fails, so be it

Now that Pogacar has revealed his schedule I'm pretty disappointed. We all more or less knew which races Tadej would race, and the only time Remco is meeting him is at LBL. Despite him saying that he won't avoid Pogacar, looks pretty much like that. Definitely missing MSR and Flanders, P-R and SB is understandable omission

Pogacar could ride AGR or Catalunya. On top of that, not riding Flanders and MSR wasn’t his decision. Denk said the team didn’t want this

Whereas i would definitely like to have seen Remco at MSR i don’t think that’s a plausible explanation. Indeed most people would have thought Pog be doing Dauphine.

It’s clear Remco has chosen the stage racing route this year with the exception of LBL which generally suits the stage racers and fits their prep more anyway.

Remco should race Flanders, he also waited too long with racing the Tour.
