My conclusions today: Remco was the strongest and deserved to with but the motos on the climb just when he attacked were outrageous, 8 motos in 50m, it's a big problem in cycling. Also, if he wasn't that aero he could have been caught, I think he overdid it on the climb and was somewhat cooked afterwards. So at the end, the strongest rider won, but without motos and as aero as others he might not ...

Like I said in my first statement, Remco was the strongest and deserved to win, I didn't say he won because of the motos just that it's a problem, which it is

Also, we know that Remco is more aero than almost anybody else and if he could just hold the gap to around 12-15s despite that, it tells me that with normal non very aero position he could be caught. So I don't know what you're arguing against because my conclusions are totally valid
What's the point of your comment though? "If he wasn't aero". If Pogacar wasn't able to push the watts he can, he wouldn't win as much as he does.

I wasn’t able to watch the race unfortunately, so can’t comment much about it. Happy he won, and was able to drop everyone. Win #5 already, tomorrow most likely makes 6 with the GC. On to the UAE Tour.

The difference between him & Almeida was not much, but at the same time enough. Very happy he continued his effort on the climb. And not reduce it after seeing Tiberi and Almeida manage to follow his initial burst.

Still a pity the TT was more or less cancelled. That way he would have had a very comfortable final day, now he will still need to remain vilgilant.

Also today confirmed what we already knew since alaphillipe dissapeared. Red Bull > Soudal
The big question is how much, at this time of the year, would Tadej have put into Almeida under the same circumstances? Put differently, would Pogacar have ridden away from Remco today?

I thought he dropped everyone pretty convincingly. Tiberi hung on for a moment but blew himself up. Given how quickly he dropped everyone, seemed slightly surprising that he didn't extend the gap, but sounds from the riders like it was a headwind. Makes it hard to extend against a couple of strong time trialists on the same team, working together.

yup. and he didn't extend immediately, but it went out from 10 to 24 seconds in the last few kms.

also, if you look at the gap to everyone besides the immediate pursuers, it was a pretty huge in just 13 kms.

main thing for me is seeing a moment when he clearly looked like he was suffering cresting one of the uncategorized hills.

the seated attack was straight out of the pog 25 library.
