Big difference in power considering they only use 5kg difference in weight

What's the point of your comment though? "If he wasn't aero". If Pogacar wasn't able to push the watts he can, he wouldn't win as much as he does.Like I said in my first statement, Remco was the strongest and deserved to win, I didn't say he won because of the motos just that it's a problem, which it is
Also, we know that Remco is more aero than almost anybody else and if he could just hold the gap to around 12-15s despite that, it tells me that with normal non very aero position he could be caught. So I don't know what you're arguing against because my conclusions are totally valid

You certainly said he might not have won without 'em. Not a huge distinction IMO....without motos and as aero as others he might not ...
The big question is how much, at this time of the year, would Tadej have put into Almeida under the same circumstances? Put differently, would Pogacar have ridden away from Remco today? The difference between him & Almeida was not much, but at the same time enough. Very happy he continued his effort on the climb. And not reduce it after seeing Tiberi and Almeida manage to follow his initial burst.
Still a pity the TT was more or less cancelled. That way he would have had a very comfortable final day, now he will still need to remain vilgilant.
Also today confirmed what we already knew since alaphillipe dissapeared. Red Bull > Soudal
I thought he dropped everyone pretty convincingly. Tiberi hung on for a moment but blew himself up. Given how quickly he dropped everyone, seemed slightly surprising that he didn't extend the gap, but sounds from the riders like it was a headwind. Makes it hard to extend against a couple of strong time trialists on the same team, working together.
I'm always hyped to see Remco look this good. I know Pog is the favourite in any head to head, but I'd love it if this were the year we got a proper battle between them at Liege. Some say Liege-like parcours suit him. But the stage was much shorter (so his classics endurance didn't matter) and this particular climb was harder and longer than typical hills (the effort duration was already for climbers). This was close to VO2max uphill effort and he showed very good climbing form reaching 2150 m/h of VAM. He's looking sharp (not chubby) and this year's start looks like the continuation of very good form from the end of last season.
Personally i think he's not far off from his previous best. Now it's wait and see if he can reach new heights.Big start to the season for Evenepoel. Hopefully he can keep progressing and stay injury free.
Interview with Lodewyck said the same. He’s very close to a non-altitude peak. Should be better after it, but won’t be extremePersonally i think he's not far off from his previous best. Now it's wait and see if he can reach new heights.
6 wins in 8 race days (ok, he doubled up with the valencia GC). These "easy" wins are great for his confidence, I think. And RB definitely has a stronger team than QS around him.Big start to the season for Evenepoel. Hopefully he can keep progressing and stay injury free.
Somebody has been working hard this winter. With five individual wins already, the sprinters have a bit of catching up to do. His five-minute effort is enough to create a gap of twenty seconds against riders like Almeida and Tiberi. After that he can switch to his endurance mode to defend the gap. Let's see if he can maintain this in the UAE Tour and the Volta a Catalunya. With this shape it's a pity that he doesn't do Paris-Nice, but they want time for altitude and training camps. His support was strong, especially Pellizzari's lead-out. If the sixth of the Giro is working for you, you're in a pretty luxurious position. The atmosphere in the team must be good now.
In the end he will be judged on his result in July, but if he's spared from big crashes and other bad luck, another podium spot looks realistic, and you never know what can happen.
Haven't they been at altitude?According to himself, only at 85% and his regular spring weight

"This is still preparation," he said, though he qualified his strong spring form. "I think I'm around 85%. I haven't done any altitude training yet and I'm just at my spring weight. I can definitely lose some weight towards the Tour."
Yeah, I read that too. I just thought they had an altitude camp, but it was apparently not so.Translated via the Google:
Sorry, but can you rephrase that. They were at Teide but without Remco. Lipowitz, Aleotti, Herzog, Zwiehoff, Pellizari.
The mentioned riders already have done altitude training, Evenepoel hasn´t. If I´m not mistaken, he is scheduled to do one before Catalunya.Sorry, but can you rephrase that.
Red Bull was at Teide but without Remco. (This part i understood)
Were the rest of the racers mentioned at Teide? Or like Remco will they go to altitude later on?
Wasn’t way too much in 2023 thoughThe mentioned riders already have done altitude training, Evenepoel hasn´t. If I´m not mistaken, he is scheduled to do one before Catalunya.
And if he´s at his "spring weight" 7km @ 12% will be (way) too much.
