Definitely… you think cyclists can’t have their own opinion? Do you know Evenepoel?
I read here Remco would not race RVV and MSR because of Redbull and how he had better support in the winter (e.g. nutrition). I also read how Remco is finally not doing whatever he wants, something that happened way too often when he was in Quickstep (many here suggested he was surrounded by yes men).
So yes, I don't think Remco had that opinion without his team's support.

Neither do you.
Obviously not personally, but if you’ve seen him in interviews you must already know he speaks his mind, and always says his goals. I mean even after *** prep before TDF where he knew he wasn’t able to go deep in trainings he said he was going for podium again… that tells you enough, and that has nothing to do with what RBH might have thought before UAE Tour

They (RBH) were pretty shocked with his underwhelming performance in UAE Tour (after stage 3) so yeah, everything points to both of them thought he could win the UAE Tour.

You are making up your own story. Give me an interview of RBH staff that backs up what you are saying. You are basically saying: my feeling is that this is the case

Evenepoel in Forbes 30 under 30 list in Belgium. Boring interview, only thing worth mentioning was he wants to win the TDF, Giro, UEC RR, Flanders, MSR and Lombardia. Everything else is extra, doesn’t care about number of wins.

Shockingly, not enough efforts to even take part in those. One simply can't postpone it year after year: at some point his window will end (as everybody's else). MSR is a race where he could've been a contender for a few years already. Flandres shouldn't be too problematic as well (winning would be more difficult though).

I expect him to ride both of them every year starting next year. They’re going all-in on TDF this year and see where that takes him. If he barely makes podium and the gap with Pogacar/Vingegaard is similar to 2024, then what’s the point… just do classics and the Giro

Yes but MSR is so easy to fit in any schedule. The fact that he's never done it should be called The mystery of San Remco.

And how will he race RVV and the Giro (if he wants to fight ftw) in the same season?

I meant it more as in if the races you want to win are those and TDF, focus on them. Doesn't necessarily have to be in the same season, although I feel he could go to altitude after Flanders and prepare for the Giro, and skipping LBL.
